The lowlights of being a social worker. 😥 I got so burnout from absorbing others emotions, painful situations, traumas. I had to get away. I could have managed it better.

So so appreciate your content! Looking to do medical social work … sending you love and strength as you process everything from the past week. ❤

Oh my heart sank with that Wednesday update. Sending you hugs for your own processing as well as praise to you for being able to sit and hold space for those parents grieving ❤️

Oooooffff, a death followed by a CPS situation sounds like a pretty tough week. Sending you lots of self-care vibes. And of course you already know how much I love your child life teamwork. Sibling work is my absolute biggest passion. It was way back when I did that same job on a cardiac floor and it still is my favorite in birth work too.

I’m studying a diploma of community services and will go on to a bachelor of social work. It’s such a tough course mentally and emotionally but I love it.

Anna, as I'm about to spend next week in a children's hospital (accompanied by your mom ❤) I want to thank you on behalf of all the families you support, equip, break down barriers, and hold space for, like the family whose baby died. Bless you as you also care for your heart and the secondary trauma you experience on a regular basis. ❤️🩹

As someone who is about to start my social work program, how did you pick medical social work? I know my program will have an internship my last year but I’m trying to decide whether to do it at a hospital or at a school, any recommendations?
@amy24505 ай бұрын
I am also in your shoes! I start in September but from my own research I believe you must go for a masters in social work after your bachelors to specialize in medical social work I am still working out the logistics but I believe that’s the next step (also depends on where you live) Good luck!

I enjoy these types of 10min videos~ It has more focus unlike the latter vids with multiple things happenings Just my views though :D
@AnnaBea6 ай бұрын
agree!! these are fun to do & fun to edit (and are quite searchable for youtube, too) -- i'm too chatty for every video to be a focused 10 min one like this, but do try to sprinkle them in there and am glad you enjoy them when I do! 🤭

Hey did you receive your MSW ?

@@AnnaBea thank you, would you say you are at your desk a majority of the time? And aside from consulting/ or discharging patients are you able to counsel them as well? I can’t decide between MSW with focus on medical or MSW with focus on addictions because I also am leaning towards working in a pediatric mental health clinic to help with anxiety, depression, etc.
