They actually do make a pop filter for the worker bee 2. It's part of an $80 accessory kit that includes a branded storage bag, bee storage crate, small bee figurine, a shock mount, and a worker Bee 1 microphone.

the old worker bee came with a good shock mount and also a pop filter, they have cheaped out on v2
@jollyjeezy28833 жыл бұрын
That's probably due to the fact they were acquired by Turtle Beach Corporation.

It seems so. A bit disappointing considering how sensitive it is to plosives. Thanks for watching.

The first one came with the microphone, a really good shock mount, pop filter, bag, and two extra screws, along with a usable box case. I think they really cheaped out on v2. To be fair though, the first wb was around $200-$250 originally

Yeah. I'm a big fan of the old worker bee. Great mic

So glad to find a THOROUGH review and testing of the WB2, I’m planning on testing it as a drum mic for mounted toms.

Hello Rick, Great Video!!! I have the Worker Bee 1 and also I received the Worker Bee 2 before December 24th. I tested both microphones, I noticed that they sound very similar, and also, the second generation lacks of anti-shock, although they say it has it internally, as you tested the sound of the hits on the desk are transmitted very loud to the capsule. Also I think the shape of the new one is better than the previous generation.
@creatorsvillage3 жыл бұрын
I like the new shape as well, plus it sounds very nice.

I've been interested to hear how Neat changed things with the Worker Bee II, and I think you might have gotten out the first review on KZbin. Those plosives though... wow. I think it sounded great on your voice at a normal and close distance when off-axis (w/ and w/o proximity effect), but it's basically unusable for on-axis recording without a good pop filter. Great review.

I really wished they kept the amazing packaging presentation they had for the original worker bee, And it's odd they didn't include a pop filter/shock mount for the V2. Makes me wonder what happened.

I think what you are calling a design mistake, on the Bumblebee, is really just your preconceptions coloring your expectations. Try being more open minded. You will have less confusion and fewer disappointments.

You're probably right. But it just didn't appeal to me personally.

@@creatorsvillage I found your point very relevant as the Shure SM7B is almost an industry standard among podcasters and that is an end address microphone.

This mic murders the AT2020 in tone color and general finish. Not even close. AT2020 is less smooth in the upper mids. AT2020 sounds like an inexpensive mic. This mic, you wouldn’t know it’s a cheap mic just from the audio.

It's an amazing mic for what it costs.

As a happy KB v1 owner I'm pretty interested in the changes they've made to the v2 models. Overall I think if they manage to fix the QC with the bad wiring causing a hum in some mics these are still a great value. I don't love the included pop filter on the KB as it seems to do... something to the sound. If someone wants to use their WB with a pop filter I'd suggest getting a different one. I would have liked to hear the WB vs the KSM32 even if it's a bit of an unfair comparison.
@creatorsvillage3 жыл бұрын
Good thoughts, I really did go back and forth on using the KSM 32. Maybe in a future vid. I'm thinking about doing a "All my mic's shootout" in the future. Thanks for watching!
