Watching the entire show and currently reading the manga made me fall in love with boxing. Have started practicing this June (joining a gym was literally my birthday gift). Haven't had any luck this year, issues constantly popping in and out, yet boxing has kept me looking forward, has taught me discipline, and now I'm unable to walk around my house without throwing at least a jab. Reading Mike Tyson's autobiography, watching his old training recordings and rewatching the anime has got me in love with the Peak-a-Boo style as well, which matches me for being fairly short for my weight.

Hajime no Ippo will forever have a special place in my heart. It was what got me to exercise and build up self-confidence. People used to tease me for being chubby and fat as a kid, but not anymore. Everytime I hear these osts it makes me cry, men... It makes me think of Ippo or my hardships in life and why I keep fighting despite the difficulties. These songs make me smile and also teary eyed cause of nostalgia. One of the best Sports anime out there.. Definitely a classic. Great music, animation, vas, story, comedy... everything man. I was never a professional boxer, but a quite good young boxer, as my trainer said to me. I quit it because of leaking of time and due to school marks. I always regret it. Now 20 years passed and i watch this anime and remembered all the fillings, especially getting knock down, this vomiting feeling . Oh boy, its so realistic made. Everything...
