It's amazing how even the temps are.

They are very even . The most fluctuation I have seen is around 5-10 degrees between them but most of the time they are almost identical .

I'd keep the grill grate out of the firebox and only put it in when you're grilling with it. If you store it in the firebox during your cooks it will burn off any protective coating you have on it and will rust between cooks. That is, unless you plan on oiling it down after every cook.

Hi , thanks for your feedback . That’s what I do . I take out the grates when cooking and replace them once the smoker has cooled down and I have cleaned it out( to be honest I haven’t used the grates in the firebox to cook on yet but I’m sure I will in the future ).

Hi, have you missed not having the upper grate in the cook chamber? I'm going to be ordering a 1969 soon, leaning towards your setup, might not get the cowboy grill also, thanks

Hi , so far I have been OK and not missed it at all . I also haven’t used the cowboy grate yet but will be trying a reverse sear tomahawk steak on it in the not too distant future.

@@stonesbbq I'm looking at the american bbq website.. prices seem too good to be true of the offset. I'm guessing x2 at least?

@@Emf50 that was the price they sold the last of their stock at . I was lucky to get mine last year at these prices ! They will definitely be more than that from wherever you get one from now but I will say they are definitely worth it !

What made you choose that model over the other 2 sizes?
@stonesbbq
@stonesbbq 2 жыл бұрын
It was mainly a balance between the size of my cooks and the size to get it into my yard . I am sure all 3 smokers perform flawlessly .

I’m building my own smoker. Is there anyway you can give me the inside dimensions of the smoke collector and the height of the stack from the base of the smoke collector to the top of the stack and the diameter of the stack please thank you so much Love the smoker, thinking I should have bought one of these instead of trying to build one lol
