I love to fly, but I don't do it nearly as much as I'd like. I loved the opening w/ the lighting in the clouds. You've got a very cool job/career! I usually go w/ a bed closest to the window, so I can crack it or open it if I need to and so I can wake up, unless some other reason happens and I have to take the one closest to the wall. In my few recent trips and airport visits, I've found McDonalds skimps on the ice--probably because their lines are so long they can't keep up w/ replenishing it, so they've cut back? Love the videos in the sky!

I'm from Dallas and I was in Munich the same time you were in 2019 (I hit Oktoberfest every year - too much fun and the people are terrific!) and I picked up my new Z4 (bought through BMW of Austin) at the BMW Welt and drove through the alps to Monte Carlo. Great fun! You need to try that one day.

Pre-covid, I travelled extensively for work. Always checked the room. I have found rooms where at first glance it looked clean, then you go into the bathroom and see that it is dirty. Yuck. I always make sure the door is locked and I even travel with a rubber door stop wedge as I have had the rare occasion to people walk into my room. Not sure how the hotel gave them a key to an occupied room. I too always sleep in the bed by the window. If I am fortunate enough to have a room with the view, I leave the drapes open. But most of my rooms are like yours where I am staring at the AC units or a brick wall! I'm going to miss your posts while you are furloughed. Hope to see you back by Christmas! Take care.

I make sure the windows are latched, I make sure that the door to the next room is locked (if there is one) I sleep on the bed that is in front of the television. Sequoyah N. P. Is the greatest. I love the big trees. Great video.

Most of the hotel rooms have a mini fridge and a coffee maker/kettle. If they provide microwave also, then it's not just perfect, its luxury 😀.

I work for Marriott in the brand departments. It’s because they’ve removed all high contact item (same with robes and decorative pillows). But all of these amenities should still be available upon request! Just call down to the front desk!

Thunderstorms are always great to watch from altitude. BUR is an airport I want to flying into at some point. The approaches I've seen are amazing and the arrival runway being next to the tarmac with no taxiway is vintage aviation. It's not considered safe to design an airport like that now and would never be certified. An av geek or photographers dream.

Our kids chose the bed as soon as we enter the hotel room, so hubby and I are always stuck with the wall bed. He always gets the side that has the table and I sleep next to the wall.

There's just alot more lightning and thunder east of the rockies. Amazing - I'm from "thunder country" in Florida and moved west. Now that I live w/out lightning and thunder, I have very little interest to travel to "thunder country". I hear about all of these Californians moving to Texas and points east and think, 'just wait until they have a few seasons of thunder country'... they are going to be missing the western peaceful sunshine weather ... where the skies are not cloudy all day. Horace Greeyley's advice, "Go west, young man" is sage, though the economy is hurting bigtime.
