All jokes aside. This is beyond impressive. This man has shown that the basic shape and joint functions of Fallout power armor can be created. And this is just a prototype before the real thing is made. Which will be made of solid metal and dens rubber. It will operate on dense liquid hydraulics or magnetic servos to move the the joints as fast as a human can move. Only real challenge is the power source. The most powerful portable batteries created today are used for electric cars. Which are WAY to big and bulky and still don't hold enough juice to make power armor lift weight or run. But hey, Every year professionals robot builders are getting closer to making Fallout tech real. You just wait for it.

patriotic halo 13 hi In the game the arms are longer, however since i’m operating them with my real arms they had to be scaled accordingly. patriotic halo 13 hi A couple reasons- In the game the hands on the suit are robot hands not the operator. When i tried templates for that design in the beginning i found the lower half of the arm ended up around 28” long and looked way out of proportion with the upper arm pieces. Also had to trim a considerable amount off of upper arm pieces at joints to get even basic movement. Short version is what you see in the game is a skin- looks great and the opening animations are sweet, but needs alot of modifying to work in the real world.

assuming your still working on this project in 2024, do what you will with it it’s a awesome project but if i were you i would attach some sort of gauntlet design that extends the arms with wires running through each finger leading to a trigger(like one you’d see on a wood stapler that you squeeze). so when you squeeze it, all fingers close like a fist. that way your arm length won’t look not proportionate to the rest of the suit and you’ll still have the ability to hold onto any prop you build too! again tho that’s just my two bits and either way i love what you got

We nearly all the technology we need to start building real power armor suits. The only thing holding people back from doing it is the power source. In order to power a suit like that you would need something like a fusion core to power it for any significant length of time. Problem with that is if the fusion core ever gets damaged.... like if it gets shot for example. It might explode, and as we know with any battery the size of it's explosion is directly coupled to how much energy the battery contains. It would probably explode with enough power to vaporize the armor and anyone wearing it.

Good luck making one out of metal, the power you'd need built into it just for the motors would be insane. Also the weight is gonna be insane so everything will need to be mechanical (and maybe some pneumatic) systems which just adds lot of complexity and weight. No this is just demonstrating, plastic, screws and a few basic motors can make the suit open from behind (which we already knew could be done especially with plastic). I'd like to see him try and make any of this out of something heavier. The power consumption will grow drastically and the complexity would definitely need to increase as more motors would be required as you would now need assisted walking. I saw other projects, but this is the only one that looks "solid" and not made out of foam.

This is just so cool!!! Keep up the amazing work! Are the pieces 3D printed, or are they made out of a different material?

Wow!! How heavy is it..? I notice that you seem to struggle walking in it- is it because of the size that you aren't used to, or just the sheer weight?

Cambrianna Forman hi It’s 70 lbs. mobility is pretty limited due to the size of the armor pieces. Im trying to fix alot of the problems with the next build.

I built something exactly the same but it had a fatal flaw lead to it being scrapped, it was made fully out of steel, the piping was made of aluminium, but the actual flaw was finding heavy duty servos that would not be too big and safe to operate, unfortunately exo technology doesn't exist properly yet and we'll, I just have it in storage for the most of its life, but your project seems more lighter, like 30x lighter than mine, my power armor frame weighs 43.2KG, I don't know pounds side, but challenging to lift, safe to say I need an actual power core to power it.

With more mechanical and electrical parts such as hydraulics and various other pieces of tech, along with using more reinforced materials such as steel, tungsten, or titanium, you may have yourself some power armor. The only thing I can think of to disguise the power supply if you used big batteries such as car batteries would be the older looking models of the Gatling laser which is seen used in Fallout 3 and if I recall, in New Vegas as well. Where there is a fusion backpack connected to the Gatling laser. Or make your own batteries to fit under and inside the armor itself. the idea of small fusion reactors or fusion batteries would be far in the future, such a thing would not be possible today unless we have a huge leap in technological development and research. That aside, good job with the armor so far.

I could easily see this implemented into military tech. Imaging this with the budget and intent of the military. Even just as a way to carry more weight or something
