WORKING FOR DISNEY CRUISE LINE EXPLAINED: THE STRESS OF WHITE SHOES

Hello in this advice video about Working for Disney Cruise Line I talk about the white shoes you are required to bring with you as part of your uniform. This is a topic I get asked about again and again and hopefully I can help clarify some of the information. Its not a sexy topic but hopefully it can help someone.

I spent an stupid amount of money on white airforce 1 and black airforce 1s and they where the most uncomfortable shoes I’ve bought. Luckily Mega in Cozumel sold insoles which eventually saved my feet. I’d recommend just buying insoles with out any holes in as they will cause blisters. When I got to the ship I was told I only needed black trainers so I sold my white ones, then a week later I put shorts on because I was working on deck all day and then got told I needed to ware white trainers with shorts.

That's very annoying you got told different things and a shame you didn't find the air force 1s comfortable I got myself insoles as well but I had no issues. My fav pair of shoes were the ones I got from the ship. Your experience will certainly help others on here thank you!!!

Hello thanks for watching. Disney pay for your flights to what ever ship they put you on. If you need more than one flight they pay for that. They will ask you what is your home airport (closet one to you) then that is the airport they will fly you from and to. :)

You can have some tattoos showing in certain places and they must meet a size guideline. You would be able to discuss with a recruiter the tattoo requirements I don’t know exactly what they are as I don’t have any.

Where are the best places to get the shoes needed for YA

Depends really. I’d you have the time I recommend going to a store maybe an outlet one and trying some on so you can feel them. Otherwise just straight off the company website like Nike or reebok or searching online for like working shoes.

Not related to shoes whatsoever - but I'm struggling with that to do about phone contracts and what's the best option(s)? I know there's roaming packages, but they don't seem like enough. Any help would be greatly appreciated

My experience was my first contract I was on the dream from Port Canaveral-Nassau- castaway back to to port Canaveral. I got Bahamas SIM card in Nassau called BTC. We only went to those stops so I didn’t need anything else. It was ok but not the best. Later contracts I got Google Fi SIM card. Which works everywhere around the world for one price. It needs to be ordered in the US and activated there( so when you are on a ship) it was more expensive but it worked really well. It was easy to use and reliable. I paid for the unlimited at 70 a month. Which at the time was far cheaper than using ships wifi on the ship. The plans of wifi on the ships have changed so I can’t give good comparison anymore. Some people use their Roaming but it’s expensive and some that have it included like three often have limits on how long you can be abroad. Some crew members don’t get any SIM cards and just use wifi and the free message sending. You will be working lobby hours so sometimes it hard to find the time to use your phone and of course at sea no real phone signal. But as I said there is free internet for WhatsApp to send messages.

Does the distance when you’re at work hurt your relationship?

It didn't for me but some people might find it difficult as its hard to stay in regular contact when at sea and away for a few months.

What do ya need for black sandals?

Sandals need to have a strap round the back and be all black. A brand often used is teva.
