A candle or fire light gives a sense of warmth & focus. Nice. I will totally incorporate the calender. I have my to-do on keep. Just never finish them.

These are really excellent tips Jodie, I can see clearer now why working from home DOESN'T work for me 😂 like you, I find it hard to focus when my house is not clean, and that's really hard when you have a 2 year old 👶 I like your idea of lighting a candle when you work / focus - lovely ritual, I will try it!

I used to work from home ocassionally & I found that I had to give myself a set start time and time limit so not to get lost in the time blob. Another must do was to get dressed, not exactly like I would to work but definitely not in house clothes. Pj's would make me get in home mode and I would want to get back in bed or just really distracted so getting dressed in almost work clothes would help keep me in work mode. Great video! I think many ppl thinks it's easier than it really is.

Hey from Northern Ireland!Thank you! My employer started flex working where we have the option to work from home bearing in mind business needs. It allows me to work from home one afternoon a week. Thanks for the tips x

Hi beautiful Jodie! I am sooo relate to all these tips! I work from home most of the time and my challenge is TO FIND THE MOOD! So, my tips would be get a bath first, brush your teeth, put on a clean, comfy clothing, (but no sleepwear please, it'll ruin the working mood), even put on a scent of perfume... It'll give the signal to your brain that it's the productive time. The same goes like when you put on running shoes, your body soon realize it's work out time. Love your videos, as always..:)

A well structure to-do list is so helpful for me too. Its helps to be productive and getting the work done that needs to be done but also I get always new work in and without a note, I would get clearly lost! Im also working from work.

My family being around when I need to study is definitely a problem for me! I can't help hanging out with them and talking instead of studying... I still haven't figured out a way to deal with that 😄

The clear to do list is vital for me being productive at home. It can be so easy to spend a lot longer on something than I would in the office (e.g. writing social content). I also use the candle trick, works a treat. My biggest challenge is that I am used to having noise around me, having worked in offices my whole career. It can just be too quiet at home sometimes and I find that distracting. A friend put me onto an app called "coffitivity" which basically is just white noise like you are in a cafe or office. Makes me feel less alone so I can focus :)

I'm fortunate enough to have a job where I can work from home. I use 'ToDoist' to help organise and schedule projects and mainly to keep me on track. I don't use candles as I'm surrounded by clients paperwork when I'm working. So I spray Jo Malone Acqua Di Limone, to provide some stimulating fragrance, I only use it when I work and it helps keep me focused. But I do take breaks every hour for 5 mins to stretch and walk about, otherwise I suffer serious neck and shoulder pain. When I need some sounds to keep me company but not distract to much from the task at hand, I find that Focus@Will helps. I prefer the sounds of a cafe. X

I'm a bit scared my cat will put her paw into the candle 🙃 Other than that, yes to all of the above! I also schedule snack breaks in order to not get too absorbed and exhaust myself.

I think it's important to invest in a really good (and professional) chair. If you wanna avoid too much walking from here to there to concentrate on what you have on your desk you automatically sit more and your posture is getting worse...very slowly so you won't recognize it for a long time. The impairment for your health would be inconceivable extensive :-(
