Can I get an apartment outside the school as a student if I don't want to stay in a student accommodation? This is because my spouse plans to join me during my stay in lux.

You are free to stay anywhere you want to stay as long as you can afford it. But the university also have studio flats which may be convenient for married people but you can contact the accommodation office for more information.

Students from third countries have active master's degrees at the University of Luxembourg(2 years),does excuse me study time calculate legal living time? Does 2 years of study for a master's degree count as at least 5 years of continuous legal residence (i.e. residence permit) in Luxembourg?
@nuelonyedikaokpala2 жыл бұрын
I did not quite understand the question clearly , however continuous legal residence means that you must be in the country during that period actively without staying outside the country for an extended period of time. Kind regards Nuel

@@nuelonyedikaokpala Very insightful video & content generally. The question the above commenter asked is one I also kindly need an answer to. Here's the parap hrased question: "In order to become a citizen/get permanent residency in Luxembourg, it takes 5 years, right? Are the 2 years spent doing a Master's degree counted as part of those 5 years or the 5 years start counting after you graduate from school?"
@nuelonyedikaokpala2 жыл бұрын
I want to believe that your primary aim in planning to travel to LUX is to STUDY. If you need to know more about immigration-related issues, please kindly visit the website of the immigration directorate. However, from my research, if you lawfully reside in LUX for a period of 5 years, then you can apply for permanent residency. Any non-Luxembourgish person who meets the conditions outlined below can apply for naturalisation. The years will start counting from the day you arrive in the country. PLEASE refer to the appropriate authority for immigration-related questions. See the link below: guichet.public.lu/en/citoyens/immigration/plus-3-mois/ressortissant-tiers/sejour-5-ans/naturalisation.html Kind regards Nuel

Hi sir Concerning the 2 years masters Is it compulsory to complete the masters in 2 years or u can take more time like in Germany?
@nuelonyedikaokpala2 жыл бұрын
Usually, you need to finish in 2 years, but of course, you can have extended time with your dissertation thesis etc., but this must be within a reasonable limit. I think you should not fail a course more than 3 times or so, but you can clarify this from the admission department. But I see no reason you cannot finish in 2 years if the student is serious. Hello sir! How can I migrate from Cyprus to Luxembourg as an M.sc student?
@nuelonyedikaokpala2 жыл бұрын
Hi , usually you can apply from anywhere , you just need to follow the process as stipulated. If you live within the European union member state there may be some steps that you may use while applying for your visa. Please always refer to the immigration directorate website for more information and guidelines. Here are some important links: (1) Conditions for residence in Luxembourg for students from third countries: guichet.public.lu/en/entreprises/ressources-humaines/recrutement/ressortissant-pays-tiers/etudiant.html (2) Note that if the student already resides in another Member State of the European Union and wishes to attend part of their studies in Luxembourg, a specific procedure must be followed. guichet.public.lu/en/citoyens/immigration/plus-3-mois/ressortissant-tiers/etudiant/mobilite-etudiant.html (3) Application for admission at Uni LUX: wwwen.uni.lu/etudiants/demandes_d_admission_candidature?1 Kind regards Nuel

Students are allowed to work part time during during school session ( Read the law about this on the immigration directorate website). However, your primary purpose is to Study and not to work, so your studies must be prioritized. Hence you are traveling to study and not for economic reasons. Kind regards. Nuel.

Hi Bro, Can a dependent work? Assuming my Spouse is doing BSc Program, Can I work? Are there Engineering jobs and Companies there (like in Germany)?
@nuelonyedikaokpala2 жыл бұрын
Firstly, this may be possible if the primary applicant that is the student is a long term resident in Luxembourg. However, the dependent still need to apply for some form of salaried work permit that will enable him or her to work. Please you should check the website of the Immigration Directorate Luxembourg to study how this works. NOTE: I am not an immigration agent so try and also inquire from the Immigration directorate . However, here is link below for more information. Once thing is sure the person must have some form of work permit. [ Holders of a "family member" residence permit who wish to carry out paid employment as their main activity must apply for a salaried worker residence permit. - Immigration directorate LUX ]. guichet.public.lu/en/citoyens/immigration/plus-3-mois/ressortissant-tiers/membre-famille/exercice-activite-accessoire.html Kind regards Nuel

About job prospects, Germany and Luxembourg are different in many ways , firstly Luxembourg is just a small country population wise, the country is probably less than a million but, they also have one of the highest average monthly income in Europe. Financial institutions, logistics etc. are more dominant in LUX but also health sector and other fields. So each country have their uniqueness . But there are always opportunities in each of these countries , you just need to explore them . Regards. Nuel
