I always enjoy your in-depth looks at everything from the artwork to the mechanisms and schematics while fixing games. I'm the type of person that likes to understand how and why everything works the way it does, and not many people understand that passion these days.

Oh my God! When this video started; In my memory, I was 13, walking into Joe's Pizzaria in my hometown around 1978. Fantastic memories of playing a few 10 cent games waiting for them to make our order to take home. It was on the way home from school too.

This seems a fairly nice example of this classic. …Just this week I got a Far Out which is about from the same period, so all this is very relevant. (For a customer so I need to pay attention).Love all the em pinball videos.

Ronnie, thanks for the video. I was going through withdrawal after the Donkey Kong video. I used to have an El Dorado wedgehead that shared the same playfield, and I believe Gottlieb made about 6 titles with the exact layout! See you next time!

@@LyonsArcade Yeah, they got their money out of that design for sure. I think the wire nuts on the transformer was just a "I don't feel like soldering today" thing!

Thanks so much for making a video of this game, I bought one many years ago in spectacular condition but not working. I put it straight in storage until I have time to work on it. You might have given me the kick i need.

What a cool game. This was first Gottlieb pinball convertible between Add-A-Ball and replay settings. Premier Technology released later SS-game Eldorado City of Gold with similar layout.

This game is cool! I always loved gottlieb games and most of their games had a lot of dropped targets. Big fan of gottlieb EM'S one of my favorite gottlieb games back in the day was Jack in the box. That game also had a lot of drop Targets

Yet another game I have never seen. That machine is in really nice shape. It would be interesting to see how many plays were on it. It must have been in a really nice arcade to be this clean. I guess it could have been in a terrible arcade that nobody went to.. LOL

I have had a Solar City (2 player version) for about 6 years, it still gets played every week as it’s a great game. It was fun to get it going but it didn’t have as many issues as this Target Alpha. Some weird stuff out of whack there - almost like someone is testing you! Why would they, we know you’re up for the challenge.

JOE, If they used a Solenoid to turn ON the credit unit/Replay Unit and the Knocker Coil they would need to use the score motor to turn OFF the solenoid? maybe this is why they used the big capacitor so they didn't have to use the score motor to turn OFF the solenoid.

Just a heads up, I have not changed the settings on your channel and I am still subscribed and have it set for all alerts and I have not received a single alert for a new video in weeks KZbin is Shadow banning you for some reason See if other people are having the same thing happened that I am I wondered why you weren't making new videos
@LyonsArcade Жыл бұрын
KZbin likes to play their games... it's almost impossible to figure out what keeps them happy.
@imjabroni1 Жыл бұрын
It could be that they cut the wire on the transformer and added a new one on the other tab, which puts out "just a little more" voltage, so the solenoids kick a little better in low voltage locations. The wire nut allows them to easily move it back if desired.

If its lazer armed, then call it a zapper. If you feel it's firing the contents of a cartridge, then call it a shooter.

Slowly getting into the EM games you guys repair. I just picture my self working on one and completely intimidated by all the switch/relay contacts that potentially need cleaning and/or adjusting during the process of "tuning up" or repairing a pinball machine. I know not everything needs to be touched, and even though the schematics help in the troubleshooting process, it's hours of being bent over a coffin with an emery board or abrasive tool to clean switch stacks one by one, hurting my back and straining my eyes and fingers to work from one end to the other... argh! But hey, you guys do great work. Keep the videos coming!
