The art work is so awesome. I was at the Texas Pinball festival last weekend and they had several of these and several The Machines and one Jackbot. One guy had the whole family. Amazing how one stuck switch and wreak so much havoc. Thanks for the video.

Nicely repaired Pin*Bot. You need to get ball up to the ramp to collect Solar jackpot, when it says: "Shoot for Solar value".

Exactly.. there are a few features to max out Pin*Bot - gotta learn the machine.. like opening the visor with one shot / advancing the planets. Love this game!

Visor will open at one shot, when you shoot lit light column on its chest and Planets will be collected by shooting down drop targets or when green light is lit at right side target.

Pinbot is my favorite machine. My dad's friend had one in his auto shop lobby and when we would go there to hang out I'd play it all day. He'd even pull quarters out of it for me to use

This is one of my favorites to play at one of our local places. It was the owner's first pinball machine that he bought. He had sold it to a friend, then bought it back again. Nice work fixing this one up.

The sound was so much better with the glass on - couldn't hear the roll on the bed as bad. Such a cool machine and love the whole visor bit

Yeah it all sounds like stuff is breaking if the glass is off. It also helps make the machine more square and solid as crazy as that sounds, Steve Ritchie has said before the games play better if you screw the playfield down like they used to do in the 50's!

Three 1/4" or 1/2" plastic spacers will make that ball not get stuck when you go up the ramp. Good looking machine! I agree that all of them play better with the glass on and lights out!

Some great trouble shooting on this one. Easier to figure out when things stop working but when wires have been attached in the wrong place that’s gonna be tricky. Enjoyed following your thinking to find the issues. Suspect it would have taken me a month of Sundays before I got there.

This and your previous video about a stuck ball in a different pinbot you repair has helped me find problems that my 'new' pinbot has upon receipt of the machine. One of the balls got stuck in the pop bumper area in the same exact area and same exact way as that video 2-3 years ago (That one rubber ring that was resting against a 10 point switch failed and trapped the ball). I'm also having the same visor problem as this machine had but it's because the rubber ring from the blue plastic post snapped and got under the vertical plate that checks for obstructions for the visor mech. Though, I had a bit of a "Come on, people!" moment when I saw that the post directly to the left of the yellow visor target was missing...and it was played without that post, causing the pinball to strike at the ball guide plate on the right side of the eject hole. Sadly, I can only diagnose playfield problems as I have to get a lock smith to take care of the locks to the coin door and/or the backglass. At the very least, I still have the topper bar

@@LyonsArcade I've learned some from Ron's vids for sure, though there's also the concern about the solar ramp being stuck in the up position. And much like Ron, I'm not attempting to remove the mylar that was put onto the playfield.

Oh yeah. There's many many many I've never worked on, that's my favorite thing is when we get one I haven't messed with before. If I go to the Internet Pinball Database, it tells me that there's 6,523 games that they know of. A ton of those are mechanical games that are very similar to each other, or variations of the same machine, so even if we cut that number in half, there's over 3,000 different machines. If you try to test that number, if you go look at Bally's first generation of Solid State games, there are 90 games between them and Stern (Stern copied Bally's boardset)... so it would be hard to have worked on even all of those, much less the other 2,910 :)

26:40 "They opened it out of pity, I didn't hit all of those targets!" Actually after the chest lights are reset, if you hit one of the 10 targets while the corresponding line of LED's are flashing, it's a skill shot and will open up the visor immediately.

Zaccaria's "Time Machine" had a whole circular section of the playfield on an elevator which would lift it up into playing position in the "future" part of the game. I believe this is the only game to have this feature.

@@pinball541 Yeah but this is a much larger feature, and I'm certain that it was the first game to have one. It's transparent on top and sits flush to the playfield when it is in the downward position.

I hated those special solenoid circuits because they were always getting burned up. But the System 11 era was still a good system, and had a lot of fun games. Seeing all the issues on this one makes me wonder how long it's been messed up. I bet the owner will really enjoy it now 🙂

only issues with lights on with glass on cause it flex off to light n hard to see game n where ball go if you turn off light can see it super clearly where ball go look awesome and i think that spacer was on slide n falled off of it i dunno if was unbalanced

at about 19 min you where talking about how the coils are fired. Technically you where correct. terminology was off a little. The tip transistors (the one that shows 2 transistors in one package) is called a darlington transistor (made for high current applications). The second thing is all you have to say is that the transistor is turned on (not synch'ed).

JOE CLASSIC, Can you explain how the special solenoid switches because they are controlled by the Blanking signal and also by Selector signal which bypasses the special solenoid switches. I'm not sure why they are using the blanking signal to control the special solenoid switches. I don't know or where the selector signals are coming from that bypasses the special solenoid switches. Somehow the special solenoid switches are triggered by the kickers switches or outhole switches which I'm not sure why they are. What is the purpose or advantages of using those special solenoid switches?
