A clean AC generator model explanation, one of the best on youtube. If I may add my two cents into this great visualization : the problematic part of this model is the real magnet demonstrated marked as N and S in which a metallic frame is rotated. We do not have such thing as a magnetic monopole, at least no such material is yet known, meaning we can't have a single chunk of material marked as N or S and we can't have any frame rotating between S and N. Having those two N and S is totally misleading and you will never build a generator based on this video unless you understand that: a. There are no magnetic monopoles so there must be more in this construction b. No real or electric magnet has North or South part of it in the sense that you can split a real magnet in two halves and have one S and another N part out of it so you could then place a frame in between and get AC generator (which is implied by the video) c. we just need a changing magnetic field to create an electric field in the frame so actually the location of the frame is irrelevant for as long as it rotates in a magnetic field To fix this video I would at least use U shaped real magnet with poles at both sides instead of the separated bars marked as S and N or rather two real magnets aligned like N S [frame] N S at both sides of the frame. I bet the majority of viewers would start building a generator from finding N and S monopoles to place them around the loop like shown in the video :-) So clean but so misleading in some vital parts, such a pity. Could easily be perfect.

I AM NOT SAYING YOU WRONG BUT CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME IF I AM WRONG OR RIGHT.. IF COIL IS MOVING IN CLOCKWISE DIRECTION THEN CURRENT SHOULD BE ANTICLOCKWISE

0:53 sec you said, armature converts electrical power to mechanical power.. It's an wrong statement... Generator converts mech to electrical power.
@chrvoje_engineering4 жыл бұрын
Yes this is generator: electrical power that flow thru armature cause that armature rotates and shaft that is attached on armature is used for mechanical machines

Good explanation, but I'm wondering what causes the coil to move initially?!!!
@chrvoje_engineering4 жыл бұрын
Mechanical energy, steam turbines, gas turbines, and combustion engines. example: some turbine is connected to a shaft of this generator and start to rotate shaft, coil is rotatitng in stationary magnetic field and EMF is generated in coil
