I asked my teacher when i was a kid. How come by a mere movement of turbine and electricity is generated. We were just told in our textbooks that turnine equals electricity and nothing in between. High school teachers are knock off in a neighborhood academy. So he didn't know it either. Now its all caz of magnets

The current goes out from whichever of the two sides go downward in each half cycle and return through the other side in the same half cycle, assuming the coil is turning counterclockwise? Does the current reverse (alternate) its direction after the slip rings? Because it seems for both sides of the coil the current inside the rotor is always moving out from the side going downward? Could u please clarify this confusion? Thanks

I was told once, not all magnets are electric but all electricity is magnetic.
@BenBorisenko
@BenBorisenko 17 күн бұрын
Well, if you wanna get really technical, they are. Magnetic fields in ferromagnetic materials are created because the free electrons in the valence shell of ferromagnetic metals all have their magnetic moments pointed in the same direction due to identical electron spin, which causes a large net magnetic field compared to a regular substance.

Electricity, an unseen power source that we can feel if we get shocked but cannot see except when lightning flashes across the sky. Every computer, machines of all types depend on Electricity. What would happen if all of the sudden Electricity was not available, no lights, No Internet, Society would come to a standstill, we could not survive.

So, are the carbon "brushes" solid metal, please? And called "brushes" because the rings slide against them or "brush" against them? (Using the word "brush" is a bit confusing, makes me looked for a brush, a literally infernal brush made from carbon which, after all, donexist in copper for completley different things...)...

I didn’t get the purpose of the magnet could you illuminate it please ? And what if there were no magnets whet’ll happen ?
@ScienceWorld1
@ScienceWorld1 2 жыл бұрын
Magnets move electrons through the metal wire because of magnetic fields. Electricity is movement of electrons. So if no magnets, no movement of electrons, therefore no current.
@xG4merrx
@xG4merrx 2 жыл бұрын
@@ScienceWorld1 but the metal or an armature could be rotated by the thing behind it which is I think turbine or fins instead of magnets.. isn’t it ?
@ScienceWorld1
@ScienceWorld1 2 жыл бұрын
@@xG4merrx Armature can be rotated by water, water steam, wind etc. When armature rotates, electrons that inside armature moves because of magnets. As I said before electrons' moves mean current. Turbine is electric generator, magnets, armature, fins all are member of turbine.
@xG4merrx
@xG4merrx 2 жыл бұрын
@@ScienceWorld1 so what if the armature rotates without the magnets, will be there a change in movements of electrons ? If no, what’s the purpose of rotating ? I didn’t get the relation between magnets & rotating since the rotating is applied by water.. etc not by the magnets
@ScienceWorld1
@ScienceWorld1 2 жыл бұрын
@@xG4merrx In order to generate electricity, magnetic field must be changed. That's called electromagnetic induction. So if you put a magnet beside a copper wire and keep it stationary, there won't be a current since change of magnetic field is zero. But if you quickly move the magnet close to the copper wire and away from it repeatedly, you'll change magnetic field that's exerted to the electrons. Therefore electrons will move to same direction and current will occur. So, in order to generate electricity, we need a simple wire, to provide magnetic field we need magnets and also we need to change magnetic fields. In order to change magnetic fields, we need to move magnets or armature. The most practical way to change magnetic field is to rotate armature. It's light and easier to rotate than magnets. You can generate electricity by moving magnet back and forth to wire but it's not practical.

The windmill machine is used to generate electricity. The wind blows and the windmill blades rotate and generate electricity. What if we create a small windmill machine and rotate it by hand. If we could create enough electricity as required for the world, then we can use this method. As many people in the world are without jobs, they could do this job.
