I loved this vlog. It brings back memories. AMS was my first transoceanic and I also hit the ground running, no sleep and walked miles and miles! I wanted to see absolutely everything because I thought it was such a rare opportunity and then scheduling sent me back literally a week later, lol. One of my friends had AMS a couple days before mine and we were hanging out back at our base and they were so nervous every time we crossed the street because they had almost been hit by a bike in Amsterdam 😆. Next time you go you should absolutely go grocery shopping and go to primark! Two mandatory stops for US flight attendants. And try riding a bike, it’s fun!

If you go again - take a short train ride to maybe Harlem or The Hague which you will find are cleaner and not quite so busy - fewer tourists and you will meet some Dutch people. They are both very nice towns.

I’ve been to the AFH many times and you’re correct, it’s an incredible experience. So many times reading the book and then finally seeing the stairs behind the bookcase, let alone walking up them was mind blowing!! Hope you had fun :-).

I 💜 Amsterdam. I've only been there once but other things to consider are a wine and cheese cruise and the Rijks Museum. Sure looked like there were a lot more people there than when I was there.

I just back from AMs last week! I flew with United. I talked to some a flight attendant who LOD in the back galley ( I applied and had F2F for a Dutch Speaker 2 weeks before Pandemic). My friend is also work as a Dutch Speaker there.

This was such a cool trip for you to take us on ! Can we talk more about the crossbody / pouch thing. I kind of want one because I feel like my external crossbody leaves me open to people trying to panhandle and even though they may snap my neck often think someone could grab it. This is a big adjustment to city living.

Thanks for taking us along on your trip to AMS. It is one of my favorite cities. I hate you did’t get into the Anne Frank as it is well worth it. At the end of the tour, you will end up in a souvenir shop. Make sure you have a reservation before your next trip to AMS. If you’re standing at the canal, facing the Anne Frank house, if you turn right, go past the church on the corner and on to the next block, there is a great little restaurant. A few steps further down is the Pulitzer Hotel where I always stay. Very nice hotel if you’re in AMS and not on a work trip. Other fun things to do in Amsterdam is a canal cruise, Van Gogh Museum (small but well worth a visit), and if you like adult beverages, a tour of the Bols Museum. So many fun things to do in Amsterdam! I hope you get to return soon!

If Kantijl en de Tiger Restaurant ,the Pancake Bakery( near Anne Frank Huis)and De Vjiff Vlighen Restaurants are still open,check them out. Yes, go to the Anne Frank Huis.The Rijksmuseum is also worth a look. The Strippenkarts to ride the trams come in handy.

Those tiny black cars you've ment in the beginning are actually scooters! So they don't run harder then 28mph, but are really convenient in the city for short distances. (and still have a roof above you in stead of getting soaked haha)

I love amsterdam, there is so much to see and to do and to eat! Too bad it is such an expensive city compared to the rest of Europe but super safe and public transportation works so well. When we went, I have booked the tickets for Anne Frank’s house in September and we went in January so yes, you need to book a lot in advance and I have been there twice. In Italy bathrooms costs 1€ too at train stations but in restaurants and bars it is free if you order food/drinks. In Amsterdam you pay for the bathrooms pretty much everywhere and also water bottles are expensive too. Was lovely to see you walking around! Too bad for your EarPods tho!😅

Glad to see the option to pay with your card for the bathroom. I always have spare Euros and coins just for this issue, LOL. I was trying to explain it to a friend going for the first time..... ! This was a great vlog. Sorry you didn't get to see the Anne Frank house, but very neat you tried and like you said- you saw the outside. I'm sure you'll be back to see the inside!

Hi Hunter, those cars are Biro cars. They are the Hip/chique equivalent of the car disabled people are using if they cannot bike or walk far. They drive max 45 KM an hour and are electric. But these Biro's are used by young people with a lot of money. They cost new: 15.000 euro. Oh and there is a supermarket at Schiphol. Albert heijn, you could get your snacks there next time :)

Glad you enjoyed AMS….AMS have sooooooo much food to choose from….I am a F/A and one of my favorite restaurants is Casa de David great Italian food, great atmosphere also as a treat don’t forget the French Fries on a little paper cone…DELICIOUS 😂😂….also Albert Heijn, Dirk, Aldi, Lidl, Vomar and C1000 great groceries stores..ENJOY😁🇵🇷🌈….oh wait also as a treat to bring home don’t forget STROOPWAFLES…a great Dutch treat and your friends will appreciate them…they are so delicious 😋

Those little “cars” are mopeds with a speed limit of 50 km. They don’t require a car driver’s license just one for a moped. They are I guess great for a city like Amsterdam as driving around an parking is quite difficult. Next time take stroopwafels, your friends will thank you! I hope you had fun in Amsterdam, next time you fly this way, hop a train to Rotterdam, I’d be happy to show you around.

LOL, how many clothes can you wear in 25 hours? Love it. I've been to Europe many times but never to Amsterdam. Everyone I know who has been there LOVES it. it's very easy for English speakers to go there. Those little cars do the job, get you to work, you can pick up a few groceries and carry one passenger. Public transportation is great so no one needs to ferry the kids everywhere. People don't bring home a months worth of TP when at the store, like we do. In London and Paris, you don't have to pay anymore. I got caught in Copenhagen and Stockholm. Luckily they had women outside the restroom collecting the money and making change.

Im from AMS and they are scootmobiles. Theyre meant for people with a handicap but also non-handicapped ppl can use them. But a bike is the best way of transportation here. Lived here my entire life and I think the Anne Frank is the only museum I havent been to ... 😅 Just discovered ur account ... and love it

The best place to buy olive oil is actually Spain and not Italy! Italy often purchased olives from Spain for their oil. So if you go to Spain, go to an olive oil store.
