OMG! I love that this video involves two dogs who really cannot be in a room together. I'm in this situation and all the training vids give good advice, but the most they do is show the work simulated with dogs who aren't really trying to fight. It's so hard to put into practice if I can't see what it looks like in the beginning stages. Thank you for this video!

this was superb. I guess building the positive association is paramount if they've had a few fights because they will (upon seeing the other) expect the fight so their brains need to be reprogrammed that they are happy to see the other. Love it.

Positive association takes skill and often a healed human. So in you, the struggle of dealing with unwanted dog behaviour is gone. Otherwise teaching positive association with anxiety will not work. Know your craft. Great video

I have a dog that only is reactive when meeting new dogs. No issues untill they start smelling eachother, then she will snap at them most of the time. Would this be a good practice for her, re directing at the site, or using this same method once they start getting into close contact?

It is not the dog she is sniffing it is her claiming territory, that is where your work needs to be involved. So perhaps claiming her reaction so she knows you don't need her behaviour

With dogs like that, the bird will be eaten if freed. We need a good look at ourselves for this behaviour. It is very layered and infects all of us
