I just completed a competition at 99designs for a logo. It was a fun experience being on the client side of the table. The perspective alone was worth the 300USD paid. Tangent: It reminded me of the time I was building a permaculture garden and rented a front end loader for the weekend for 200USD. Better than a roller coaster at a theme park!

The Midnight Charette Good results; several of the “mid-level” guys performed well and I continued to thank them for their efforts. I think only one “top-level” guy participated. Very happy to have a symbol/badge for my march forward as I create a restaurant from scratch.

The Midnight Charette Also, it’s worth sharing: when I posted a “public” competition and invited a “top-level” guy, he responded in a private message asked why I did a “public” competition. So, it seems like the “top-level” designers are chilling on the site, and wishing for people to hire them directly based on the feel of their portfolio. And maybe “public” means that the ideas can be stolen more easily; ideas leak for copying faster.
