2:14 This shows a very major problem with this software. You cannot simply replace the local component with the component in the cloud. You need to delete the local component, link to the cloud component, and then re-create all of the joints of the component. If the component has a lot of joints, this can be very tedious and difficult. In this example, I am making an educated guess that all of the fasteners shown had joints to the plate. All of these joints would need to be created again. Even in this simple example, it looks like 6 joints would need to be re-created.

Exactly. In solidworks, you have a dedicated replace component command. Still love fusion though. What they provide for the price is killer.

1:29 If there was an 'Export and Link' option when saving a component to the cloud, that would greatly improve the functionality of this software.

Is it possible to “rebuild” the link after the fact? Let’s say I want to add the hole to that angle bracket in this design, but I still want it to update if, say, I decide to change the diameter of the four original holes on the source part, or thread them, or something? Am I approaching this problem the wrong way?
