Dear Jen, how wonderful that you are back with your calm and helpful videos….destination pullover here I come!

The roughness and scratchy feel of a ball of Lettlopi wool makes it unappealing to many knitters but now you open the door with your explanation, that also covers all possible questions that might come up. Lettlopi fans, listen, watch and start your first Lettlopi project on larger needles and be confident that it all will turn out soft, bloomed and warm also. Enjoy the splendor of this rustic wool with its beautiful colors. Very complete information on the subject, as always!! Thank you!!

I would caution that using larger needles doesn’t make it merino soft! But it is softer than on smaller needles. ☺️

@@ACTechniques Good to mention that! I guess a garment with Lettlopi is lighter than a merino garment, so it might stay in shape and keep its size. A merino garment tend to loose its original model and size. Do you agree?
@ACTechniques Жыл бұрын
@@EV-D-10 It depends on lots of factors including how the garment is constructed and the gauge it’s knitted at etc… I would find it hard to compare the two as they would be so different.

Thankyou for posting this very informative video. I have a question if you would be so kind to answer. The yarn is described as single ply and should be twisted before using. Is this necessary do you think. I wouldn't know how to do this. Am thinking of knitting the hepastaya horse pattern. Also have you posted a video on swatch in the round. Sorry it's very long.

@@maureenclutton6351 lettlopi doesn’t need twisting before using. I’m not sure where you’ve seen that, but I’ve used it for several projects and never twisted it. I haven’t done a video on swatching in the round. I think that Stolen Stitches has one of you Google it.

Thankyou for your prompt reply. Think I read about single reply on instructions on horse sweater pattern, but it is a vintage pattern. Will have look at stolen stitches.

Thank you for the video. I didn’t realize it would be less prickly at a looser gauge.

That was so interesting Jen, thank you. I’ve used Lettlopi before to knit a Riddari for my son but felt the finished fabric was far too itchy for a sweater for myself. You’ve inspired me to try the looser gauge so I’m going to make the Stopover, yours looked so lovely. I love the fact that with larger needles it will be a quick knit.

If you were to make the Stopover sweater with Lettlopi at standard gauge, would the colors look more crisp/defined than at the larger gauge? Or, is this idea too simplistic?
@ACTechniques Жыл бұрын
Hmmm. That’s a good question. Working Stopover at the tighter gauge would change the sizing significantly. I would look at project photos online for stopover vs other Lopi designs worked at the tighter gauge and see what you think. Hope that helps!

👍😁thank you.

But what about this sweater stretching since not knitted tightly?
@ACTechniques Жыл бұрын
As long as you are getting the correct gauge it will be the right size. And because the fabric is so light, it won’t stretch through its own weight. I haven’t had any problems with my Stopover losing shape.
