NZ schools are very reluctant to hire classroom teachers who have not completed their teacher education in NZ and teachers who do not have NZ teaching experience. I am a NZ citizen, have a Master's degree in Science, a Master's degree in Teaching - Secondary and a Postgraduate Diploma (that I gained in NZ). I have also successfully completed a Teacher Refresher course in NZ. I have been applying for almost every teaching role advertised in the Education Gazette (for Auckland schools only) since September 2019. I am only getting rejections after rejections without even attending an Interview.

Your description shows a difficult task for people like me. Although I am quite experienced - I have taught Analytical Chemistry for more than 30 years - and am fluent in English, I didn't find an easy path to find a job there from overseas.

@@ademariojunior I really wish I could move to Australia to teach. Several teachers have told me that schools there are more "open minded" and accepting of teachers from abroad who have teaching experience. Have to live in NZ due to family commitments.
