Just really helpful stuff here. Straightforward, simple, well produced. This is the kind of content that just makes you really thankful for a platform like KZbin. So much time and effort saved that I can invest in other things because of it and Mr. Wimberly’s great content. Thank you for the extra time I can spend with my family this evening instead of routing through manuals or pain outlandish $ to a dealership to figure it out and wondering when I can get my vehicle back. You sir are a hero.

If Truth be Told, there is absolutely no reason GM should make changing a lightbulb that complicated. Shouldn't have to take out that many bolts to change a bulb. The earlier models just had Pins holding them in.

This was one of the best videos I could find on KZbin. I'm sharing that I ran into two specific issues with my 2012 Yukon. Sadly, the previous owner had removed the "hidden" bolt and so I had popped the wheel well off for no reason. Clearly two bolts hold it in well enough, I guess. Also, getting the old Sylvania bulb out was incredibly hard. I had to have someone hold the light kit and I had to use channel locks to (counter clockwise) unscrew it. I'm putting this out there sin case others run into this.

A big thank you Steven Wimberley. As with most guys I thought I could do this without instructions. I needed to replace a blown bulb in the headlight assembly of my 2011 GMC Yukon XL. I couldn't figure what I was missing until I watched your video. It was the bolt under the wheel well that got me. Removing the bolts on the grill assembly was a big help as well. Well done video, sir!

Very well done. I appreciate your taking the time to share this. I decided to let a professional do this, but at least I knew enough to make the right decision. This is much easier on my other vehicle, but as I don't have the mobility I once had, getting the bottom bolt out on my Yukon would have been a bit of a challenge.

I just had to do this & have to say I was scared either way to try it but you helped a lot . After I got all bolts out I got down to the front of the tire & my wrench wouldn’t fit in there to remove it. Your video didn’t show how you got it out but I only had a $10 wrench kit to use being a single mom. I cried for 10 mins & some how it was lose after lol. Prayers work. I did end up with diff measurements for the bolts & had 1 11mm that I some how no matter what I wrote down couldn’t figure out where it went or would fit in. So I have 1 bolt left out but this did help a lot! I have inspection the end of this month & know I still have a reverse light out which is easier. However after I checked to make sure my headlight worked I seen that my fog light on the other side is out lol. I’ve noticed lately here that every GMC Yukon or any model I drive by has a headlight out & since I’ve had this car less then 2 yrs I’ve had a blinker go out, headlight, fog light & a reverse light. Seems GMC has issues with lights going out non stop & the work can be time consuming as well especially for the front! I seen another guy that shown removing the air filter & hose & I was more worried about removing stuff connected then bolts & rain guards.

Thank you very much. I wouldn't have thought I'd have to come in from the wheel well, but I could tell there was likely another screw I couldn't see. Keep up the good work.

Great video, One thing to note though, taking out the main headlight bulb is a pain in the ass, there is a locking mechanism on the interface that makes it very difficult to remove. You have to take a flat head or something to shimmy the connection apart. I thought I was going to break the wiring. But Thanks for the video you explained things really well!
