Great thing with the workmate is the fact that you can just fold it away when you have finished with it. We dont all have big shops where we can have a fixed bench.. Always carried mine in the van with me when i was contracting. Auxiliary top is a good idea.

You are certainly correct. My shop is extremely small. Barely 8 x 10. Everything must be compact and/or mobile. Have fun with your projects!
