This place certainly is a beautiful spot but it does require a large amount of work to get ready on the inside but mainly on the outside. Time is ticking!

Hi, Bear Hill (thats the official name) was always a challenge! I got another surprise for you! Do you remember the bad hurricane Juan? Hi hit in September 2003 as a hurricane category 3. He split the nicest Pine Tree around the lake in front of the Log Home! We didn’t wanted to loose them. So I got way high up in the tree and fastened him together again. And find out; 19 years later it still holds after many, many storms and tons of snow!😁 Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪☘️ Bobby

Clean your woodstove flues or pipes yet ? I did that for 5 years. Learned from the best. Usually no need to disconnect them inside the cottage. Take the cap off the top above the roof if possible and sweep it down into the stoves with the air intakes closed. Wrap the "cold" stove with an old blanket to hold the very fine ash down, assuming you don't have a professional vacuum. If you have a pro vac, you can sweep upward then clean the soot and ash from inside the stove. Hopefully the baffles are easily removed to gain access to the pipes from the inside of the stoves. KZbin may show you how to remove your baffles. You could also hire a pro chimney sweep of course since good brushes and rods are kind of expensive, unless you already have them. Good luck.👍👍

Don’t know if you have a stand alone shredder? You could shred branches and brush, and spread it over the ground you’ve been stumping and working on. I think there’s a ‘feel good’ factor to it. Shows you the progress you’re making, and you don’t have to wait for nature to do its bit. Loving the cottage. Takes me back to when I was maybe 10. Family friends had a cottage on a lake in Halliburton Ontario. The best spot on the lake, without a doubt.

Wow, anything is possible with the correct machinery. 👍🏻 You make it look so easy?? One question, what do you do with the stump waste once it’s up out of the ground? Do you burn it, or cut it up with a chainsaw? Very intrigued to know? Here is Scotland, on Estate Landrover roads, we put in wooden u-shapes storm drains, which run across the roads at intervals, and this helps to drain water off our roads, and prevents water from simply running down the roads, washing out the gravel/hardcore surfaces. A friend of mine, refuses to do this, and their road, regularly gets washed out on one side every winter. It is a nightmare and makes visiting them with a normal car, very difficult. They share the road with two other property owners! Guess that, getting them to share the cost is the real problem? However, if they were not so stingy, and counted up the cost of repairing large sections of their road yearly, the storm drain option would be cost effective. As the old saying goes, “you can take a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink?” Great to watch you doing stuff around your property. Keep up the good work and take care 👍🏻😁
