Sounds good, which oil do you use? I read about using linseed with wax but never tried mixingmyself

You are the first person I've seen use olive oil to finish a wood piece. That's awesome. Did you have to do anything to prep the board before you poured your epoxy to keep it from bleeding or does that epoxy just not bleed?

I use olive oil for everyday use items as boards or wooden spoons, which are cleaned regularly. I would not use it for decorative wood items or furniture as it can start to smell as it never really hardens out. linseed oil would have be the better choice for boards (the linseed oil that can be poured over the salad, not the linseed oil varnish, which contains additives that should not be eaten). The lineseed oil I had at home has become rancid, so I did not use it. Should have checked before. Rapeseedoil or sunflowerseedoil would have been possible too, but it is necessary to wipe any excess of oil so that it does not get rancid. It did bleed a bit especially under the masking paper, but it was only on the surface, so I could easily sand it away. Could be the resin too, which was relatively thick, but I think it has to do with the type of wood itself as a cutting board should not be to spongy for hygienic reasons. This definitively helped.
