I do hope you’re doing well after your surgery💜Your property is so beautiful! I’m def a PacNW girl, and Montana always reminds me of home (WA). I visit occasionally, my brother lives about 3 hours from Kalispell in Great Falls, but I haven’t been there since about a year before the pandemic, so wow nearly 5 yrs have gone by! Sure doesn’t feel like it, lol. No one was really going anywhere ‘20-‘21, then I lost my hubby in ‘22 and I really haven’t had the gumption since then to go on roadtrip alone. I’ll work up to it one day tho, bcuz I’ve always loved it. Hope you and your fam are all doing well 💜

Thank you Teri! As it turns out I didn't do the surgery. We postponed it until February. I just love the mountains! I hope you can feel up to the road trip again sometime. I wouldn't do it alone either though.

Some thing I do on my property is I have a baby pool filled with water for the critters so that they stay away from my hummingbird feeders. I don’t know if this would help with the squirrels trying to get to your water or not.

We had thought about putting in a bird bath situation but can't buy any around here. LOL Go figure. Whatever we do, it has to be high enough that the dogs don't mess with it.

@@moriversoap gotcha Dogs like the baby pools for sure I also have the top of a stone birdbath that I keep on the ground and I just spray it out every few days so that it stays clean it has water in it. It’s low to the ground for bunnies and cats too

Yay!! It is so AMAZING to see everything starting to come together! Also we will have to compare notes on Maksey!! I just got our first order in from them and can't wait to test things out!

It sure is! It's so fun! I made a couple of orders from Makesy. I got a little eager on the first one and the 6 - 16 oz bottles of holiday fragrances I bought. LOL I only liked two of them. I used to order from them before they changed their name. I have been using their candle supplies for years. But I just really like their transparency on their fragrance oil information.

@@moriversoap yes!! That has been my biggest draw to them along with the absolute massive catalog of fragrances. Also holiday fragrances are so touch and go for me haha, they are either way too sweet for my nose or like your smelling a straight up Christmas tree 😂 If you also like their transparency, I've been working with a lot of Candle Science fragrances lately and they have their IFRA and quality control on point lol

I'm going to assume that everyone you know will be getting some kind of knitted item for Christmas? I'm a crochet girl myself. Never could figure out how to knit. Good luck with the knee surgery! It sound like it'll be an easier surgery and that's always good (unlike a knee replacement). While I'm anxiously awaiting your return to soap making, your health and sanity find first! I am a little jelly of the log cabin. Always wanted one!❤

Thank you Brenda! Haha, I am too slow for that. But I am finding that most of what I am making is with someone special in mind. I do hope the surgery goes well. It should. The crazy thing is that it doesn't hurt at all but probably will after the fact. 😜 I think about you every now and again, especially since we did that whole Ehler-Danlos soap. Everything happens for a reason as we are looking at this for my daughter. She is hyper-mobile and having digestive issues that could be related.

Hey Holly! Fellow soapmaker and business owner❤. My heart goes out to you for hardships this year and I will keep you and your family in my prayers. My soapmaking operation is temporarily suspended because I lost my space to make due to a housefire and a bunch of other really un fun circumstances. Once my husband and I get a new house the plans are for us to split a 10x24 shed for our activites! (My soap making and other crafting and his everything else 😂). I was super excited to see that you are building a new area to get some ideas! Is there any advice you have for building a space like this as far as workflow goes and such? Ill take anything for advice. Im so excited to watch your progress on everything and am so excited for you!! ❤

Thank you for the prayers! I am sorry to hear about your circumstances as well. That must be so difficult. My only advice right now would be maybe you need it to be bigger. Haha! Ours is 12 x 32 and seems tiny when I think about all the I am going to have going on. Eventually I will have the whole space and I feel like it will be great for me.

The zucchini and squash is probably poor pollination. You can hand pollinate them. I’ve struggled with them as well but I’m in NC. In Co I had no problem growing 2lb zucchini on accident lol. ❤

Thank you! I kept waiting for things to look just right before I filmed and I finally had to accept that we are always going to be a work in progress. We are just never going to have a place that's 'instagram-worthy' if you know what I mean. That's just not how we roll.

I’m so sorry to hear about your knee but I’ll be praying for your complete healing and restoration in Jesus name 🥰🙏🏼 Your workshop is coming along nicely I know you will be glad when everything is complete. Your log cabin will be beautiful I know I just love log cabin homes! It’s such a blessing you have your neighbor who can be a help with your new home. I sincerely know and feel your pain when it comes to those mischevious squirrels!!! I have the same problem they make me so mad 😝 I find that they do not like chicken wire so I have enclosed my plantings with chicken wire to keep those little devils out 😆 You may have to try that or better yet you can attach some chicken wire to the front of your door until you get to do it like you want to. It will be easy stapled to the door and you can remove the staples later if you choose to. I love your view with the mountain top and with a full window view it will be lovely and so peaceful. Thank you! We do have chicken wire to keep the deer out of my cherries. They've already decimated the lilacs we planted. My husband *just* got the plastic up on the front of the tunnel. He was going to do the door and then it started raining and he hasn't gotten back to it. I decided I'd rather him finish the shed. Haha!

Hi Holly😊Great to have you back. I love your property. If you don't mind me asking, how big is it? I live on a farm in Pretoria, South Africa. Our farm is approximately 33 hectares, which is about 81 acres. We have some goats, sheep, and a cow. I use the goats' milk for some of my soaps. Most of the milk is consumed by the kids. Thanks! We have 9 acres. We wanted more but we were in a bit of time crunch and needed to have a well, power, and septic. We weren't in a position to wait 1-2 years for those services. That being said, we have an amazing neighbor that backs up to us and he doesn't plan to build there at all, so we are good to go!

Living in our RV and trying to build (125°) isn't friendly 😂 I have 3 of the "sheds" and I'll say, make sure you insulate the roof really well too!!! And when you fell you've insulted go back and add more 🤣😂 I guess I'm just having personal issues with this heat hahahaha. Happy to see you're making progress! Don't give up!!! 😘

YOU MIGHT WANT TO RETHINK THE LONG CABIN AND JUST BUILD WITH WOOD AND CONCRETE. BEES LOVE LOG CABINS, THEY GET IN BETWEEN THE LOGS. JUST MAKE SURE YOU SEAL UP BETWEEN THE LOGS. SO YOU WANT GET LEAKS ECT.

Don't forget I mentioned that we are building this with the help of an actual log cabin builder. This has been his business for years and years. I know we will be doing everything appropriately.

Try using cayenne pepper for the squirrels ! I have that issue and that helped . My husband and I just built our home ourselves as well, I can say we would never do it again lol Be ready for STRESS LOL At the end it will be worth it. We downsized as our son is grown and gone so we built 2,200 sf. I too am getting ready for surgery but on my legs. We have a lot in common. Lol So glad to see you back on channel. So far the deer haven't bothered the flowers but they do like the leaves on the lilacs and cherry trees we planted. We are putting a fence around new plants.

We lost our oldest on Dec 10 of 2022. He passed away from an upper respiratory infection and complications of his dialysis. He was just 46 years old. Then in May 31 of this year we lost our beautiful long hair piebald dapple miniature female dachshund. She died in her sleep. Sugarfoot was 13 years old.

Hello Holly! It's a Great looking shed/shop you have coming together. Hope the knee heals quick. I am in the same boat as you. 43 this year and soap making near Topeka, KS. I bought an 1898 bank in a little downtown that I'm remodeling to be our soap shop and I have not made products since June. Wish you the best!

I really missed hearing your voice I've been busy myself I've been wanting to reach out to you but now I understand I'm glad I didn't but wow look at the life you're about to lead total Montana envy! Once you get settled I would highly recommend a small shed that you could have basically a crew of cats that can take out the squirrels I understand they have the right to live too but sometimes mother nature has to step in. Once the squirrels see that the cats are around they won't be so prolific I know this because I live right next to a park myself and I have a cat rescue and at the moment I feed 20 they're not a feral colony but they are cats that used to be in a cat room that they knocked out the window. But they stay around because obviously they get fed and they do take care of the squirrel population. What an exciting journey you are on, I'm so very happy for you. Thank you for sharing! I'm about to buy a 45-foot fifth-wheel I wish I could just move to the mountains! Enjoy the journey!

Let me say one thing about a Montana gardener…we have extra large windowsills for one reason….our tomatoes in September 😂 Everything looks amazing and we hope you come up to Columbia Falls when we open the store! Hi Holly. I heard you say you live close to Kalispell. My husband's aunt, uncle, and cousins live there and right up the road beside the post office in Lakeside. They have been there for 40 years. We visit often from NC it is soo beautiful there,
