Thx for the tour around your worktable Brett! You've got a really nice small compact work area, it appears to be very user friendly, and put everything you need at your fingertips! Loving that setup with the CO2 tank, and your son's workstation- share the hobby, and quality time with the family! Won't lie, Im gonna steal some ideas to continue setting up my work area LOL

Brett, you never cease to inspire me! I am compiling a bunch of materials (the Paasche H airbrush you helped turn me onto, a spray booth, a bunch of acrylic primers and paints, table, LED magnifying lamp, etc). Just finished watching this video as I work my way through your library, and it's terrific. Got the brain synapses firing on things I can and need to do. I'm getting close to getting started, waiting for a few more items like the spray booth to arrive. Hope to have a fraction of your awesome setup soon. Some day I'd love to get a setup for my son next to me, just like you have. :)

Glad you found this video helpful. I have a later one posted of a newer setup and am getting ready to do another with further improvements. I think you will find that it is a never ending process of fine tuning. Thanks for waching and I hope to see what your work station looks like when you get it going!

All VERY nice - oh how I envy you👍😊😄 I've never seen CO2 used for airbrushing - I've three compressors of different sizes and types, even the smaller ones are noisy. I might look into CO2 - not sure about personal use in the UK🤔🤔 One thing I would say, depending on pressures used etc, although low-zero VOC, acrylics are basically plastic particles, you really don't want to be breathing those in, nor paint thinner etc. You mentioned a fan? Are you extracting/filtering or just moving particles to another part of the room? You might be surprised how much there are - Eg you know how dust appears in a shaft of sunlight in a darkened room? It can be MUCH worse than that! You may wish to consider a filtered extractor, if you spray at low pressures using WATER based acrylics, and it's well filtered? You don't need to vent to outside air - you can vent via decent filtration and extract particulates away from you and the room/space. The filters trap the particulates etc. I hope that helps.😊👍🤞

Thanks for the comments and advice, Muso! I have invested in an extractor since this video was made due to the very reasons you describe. I also wear a mask when I spray, even with the use of the extractor. As for the CO2 setup, I would find it very hard to go back to a compressor! So simple to use, very little space to take up... the benefits are plenty. Thanks for the comments!

Sweet layout.The magnetic strip is a good idea.

Thanks, Randy. It really does help keep things organized and handy. Very useful when one has a small surface area to work on.

A neat and tidy work station is the sign of a twisted mind. Lol! Mine is organized chaos. Plus the wife is an expert at finding lost parts every time she vacuums: "Hey Hon? Is this that piece that you were looking for a few years back when you working on that boat thingy thingamajig?"
@BrettG644 жыл бұрын
Ah yes, Mike, the twisted mind! LAL. I am a freak when it comes to my workspace. I think that is why I enjoy weathering the least. No matter what I do, I can't keep things neat and organized during the weathering process and I end up just wanting to get that part overwith!

Thanks for the comments. The CO2 thing is really nice. I don't think I could go with a compressor again. the only noise is the sound of paint being sprayed, and moisture in the rig is a thing of the past. And if a 5lb tank is too small depending on how much a person sprays, there are larger bottles available.

Thank you for the video, was looking for ideas to set up in s small room and your setup is very inspiring! I know nothing about spray painting and I'm very new to the hobby world, but will I not need a fan to send the air outside of the room even if I use a CO2 canister like you?
@chrissorlie64973 жыл бұрын
@@hekidayo I'm wondering that too? Being an outdoor porch maybe a few open windows would be fine. Inside a house I'm thinking it could be dangerous.

Really nice set up sir. Just kicking myself right now that I spent so much on my compressor and extractor system. Really noisy. For lacquers / enamels it will be real good indoor setup, but I wish I would have done a more exacting search and found this earlier. Anyways, thank you for sharing.

Thanks, CD. And yes, an organized work area makes for a much more enjoyable modeling experience in my book. I have a later video showing my new setup though... this one is gone. My daughter moved out when she got married and I gained a man/hobby room.
