Hey Tim, as the community, as a hole, I want to say thank you for everything you’ve done for the past few years. Zombies was great initially but eventually fell flat after BO2/BO3. The maps got worse, too easy, boring and just in general very tired. We appreciate you so much man, you don’t even understand. Coming home after school just to watch your videos is another feeling entirely, it’s on a new level of awesome. Even though this is the first of the last, I want you to know how much you mean to us. We will still continue to watch your new and amazing content, but in the back of our minds, cherish all the great memories you’ve revived and even created for the zombies fans. @OldBenKenobi23182 жыл бұрын
Bo4 was far from easy. If anything was easy it’s Bo3. I mean have you played the launch maps of Bo4? None of them have a very easy Easter Egg. One of them requires you to get to round 150, one of them is 3 hours long(blood of the dead), one of them is IX which is just a pretty challenging map in general, and one of them is Voyage which I don’t really need to explain. Then the first map to be released after launch is Dead of the Night which is a very confusing map. I haven’t played much Bo4 but it’s definitely harder than Bo3. CW though is pretty laughable. Way to easy. And I haven’t even played Vanguard and probably never will.

To me, World at War Zombies was just as much defined by the Custom Maps you could get on PC. I spent probably just as much time playing those maps as the official maps. It showed the game mode wasn’t just a one off and fundamentally had a good gameplay loop, one that would last for ages. Some maps like Leviathan (the remastered version in BO3) I’ve unironically played more then some maps in Cold War. If anything custom maps will keep the community alive until Treyarch grows a pair and decides to make zombies awesome again. Sad to see this is the last series you’ll have on the channel, it’s been an honor being along for an awesome ride!

I genuinely think despite all its problems veruckt is a simple masterpiece. And I’m only taking about the original version, there’s something the remasters never got right and I can’t explain it maybe it’s waws overall vibe but the best I can explain is original verruckts lighting made everything feel like a fever dream. Now I think about it all 3 dlc maps had a fever dreamish feel because of the lightning like the bright oranges in the huts on shi no and from the flames around Der reise but verruckts burning forest and bright orange light that shines through the windows is definitely a stand out.

I almost literally grew up on the World at war zombies, and have really gotten a thing for things like this, though i tend to go far more indepth. (i have also posted on a few of your analysis/look back videos, so not sure if you will recognize me or not.) One thing in this i would like to see mention is how the games changed the sounds, from the guns, to the zombies, to the jingles, to the round count music, all changed drastically over time and how it really helped, and in some later cases hurt, the feel and atmosphere of zombies. The sounds of World At War really did keep to the more scary and horror theme of the game mode, and everything played to that aspect, with the secret songs being something only experience (and later, people that googled shit) would find, and as these people knew how to play the mode well, the badass but still macabre tone of the metal easter egg songs, punctuated with the Female lead singer, really added something special to the feeling of the mode, and is a later staple of the game mode too.
