Mega Garchomp Could work if it has a Better Ability and reduce the Attack and Special Attack and give it to its Sp.Def, Def and Spe. There you have a another Mega Salamence.

Chomp is the GOAT, it really is. Even now Rough Skin is awesome to punish Surging Strikes, but not just that, it still really gets you out of more sticky situations than you may expect. Far more than when I used Lando instead to be honest. SD Chomp with some bulk + Yveltal even got me into the Top 100 this season. Also, I really feel like Garchomp deserves to be called Pseudolegendary, not just in the numbers game, I had a few games where I went up against Zygarde and Chomp did go toe to toe with it.

How are the chances for you doing some series 12 stuff? Gotta say, I would have liked a two restricted format without Dynamax, since games snowball like crazy with it, but I also got to say I want to see how you play and possibly some teambuilding. Series 12 will stick around for a good while, so I hope to see some more innovation finally.

I think it will be very good, especially in a limited dex environment like we’re bound to see the first few months after Scarlet/Violet’s release

@@RayRizzoVGC As I don't know wether you are spoiler free, I will try and keep the rumours I've heard out of this message, but I think that if Chomp can find a good Tera-type, it will be very powerful especially. I am considering the ramifications of Steel/Water type personally. Steel to counter its fairy/dragon weaknesses and hit ice harder, water to reduce the ice weakness. It kinda depends on if the new mechanic adds a type onto a pokemon in addition, or if it just replaces the type entirely.

Garchom is my favorite Mon, and I think that this would probably break it in a bad way. If anything, I'd instead move up to 8 points from HP to speed. Makes it a little faster, retains its mixed attacker sets, and it only loses a little bulk. Or give it dragon dance when the time is right. Chomp is still really good right now so I'm not sure it's due for a buff just yet. But we are getting close.

Ray what’s your best advice for using non meta Pokémon, I really would love to see a team building guide from you as I feel that’s the biggest thing I struggle with and many others do. I don’t like playing Pokémon just spamming Super popular meta mons

My best advice for that is to find a specific niche that it can fill and other meta Pokémon can’t. For example, some people really liked the design of Centiskorch and really wanted to see it work. It’s not meta and not a particularly good Pokémon, but it has a typing that lets it destroy Zacian (resists all of steel, fairy, and fighting). Since Zacian has been so incredibly powerful and common in all of these formats with restricted mons, you’re able to make a non-meta Pokémon work thanks to that specific niche. It might not ever see serious success in official tournaments, but it’s good enough to see small amounts of success and have fun using at the same time. We saw Sejun win worlds with Pachirisu because it was able to do something every other Pokémon couldn’t do as well as it. Not every non-meta Pokémon will have a niche unfortunately, as a lot are just simply outclassed in every way by meta Pokémon, but there’s a decent chunk you can at least point to and say “no one does ____ better than [insert non-meta mon]. Then you just have to find one of those niches that could actually be useful in the current meta, and build a team around it with that in mind. I’d like to put out a team building video at some point, thanks for the suggestion and comment :)

Abomasnow just has not that great stats and 4x weakness to fire. And rillaboom is everywhere for Milotic. Also, I would love to see a team building guide all the steps you use. And even a better idea is for you a video is for you to take a Pokémon or idea you want to build around and show us from scratch how a 3 time world champ would construct a team! Then try to win with it in ladder. That kind of video hasn’t been done before would be awesome!
