I love rewatching these videos. So comforting! Can’t say I’m AS MUCH of an overpacker, but I’m also not a freaking vlogger xD I do often bring my work with me when I travel but my work consists of a MacBook and an external hard drive - simple. But it’s so nice as someone who loves to bring all her comfort bits and pieces, to watch these videos. I too even bring my own pillow with me as I don’t trust hotel pillows. My wife is 100% the minimalist and even washes her clothes in the hotel sink. And why on earth would anyone be minimalist on a cruise 😅

Maybe a little late to the party but I tend to vacuum the vacuum bags once they are in the suitcase so it fits into all the gaps inside the suitcase x and it's good you have space in the suitcases, that means you can buy more when you out there! haha xx

We’ve used the vacuum bags for holiday house rentals where we know there’s a vacuum ready for the return trip. How did you manage to pack everything when you left the ship? Did the cruise ship give you access to a vacuum?

Our next trip is in May so only a few months left to go!! We’ll be heading off on a 13 night Transatlantic Cruise on the Disney Dream from Fort Lauderdale Florida to Barcelona Spain with some stops in Ports in Portugal & Spain. Following up with 3 nights in Disneyland Paris then flying back home to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada! We are super excited as this will be our first time in Europe and in a Disney park outside of WDW in Florida. I hope you have an amazing time Brogan. You are a fantastic packer. I always liked to take much less especially going to the USA years ago when shopping was very cheap. We went to LA, Hawaii, New York and sailed home on the Queen Elizabeth. 9 weeks we were away all together. In Hawai we bought all new clothes to come home with and took our clothes we had taken to a Salvation Army donations station. Still had 6 suitcases on our return. You both enjoy every minute. Your memories will last a lifetime. Congratulations and love to you both.

Top tip - pop your clothes on a hanger and set the shower going. The steam will knock out some of the creases and save you on laundry costs. Reminded me of my packing for cruise seasons! It’s a long time to pack for! Have a fabulous time xxx

I love over packing. When I moved apartments a house I shared with an two other renters and the owner, I used my giant Roxy suitcase ( you inspired me to buy my own) I used packing cubes for my smaller bits and stuffed my entire closet into it. I still have that suitcase to this day. I don’t use her as much. But my boyfriend’s family is from the eats cost in Canada, and when we go hopefully this summer, I can use that one. It fits so much stuff it’s awesome.

One thing to consider if using vacuum bags rather than packing cubes is whether you will have access to a vacuum to repack for bringing it all home again.
