I do Love how the fastest twin turbo small block V8 run's 248mph in the 1/4 mile and the fastest twin turbo big block v8 run's 260mph in the quarter mile.

what everybody is failing to realize here is this, imports rely on rpm for speed. muscle dont need rpm, muscle had torque. torque = launch and low end. rpm = gentler, more controlled launch and top end. like a very muscular fighter vs a lighter quicker fighter larger fighter = devastating hits but tires out quicker. smaller fighter = quicker, lighter hits, but can last longer. the question is, can the muscle put out a hard enough hit to stay ahead? or will the rpm catch up. either way, theyre both high speed marvels...

after an hour watching what seems like a very well attended and represented event, it conformed what we all already knew, imports are fast drag cars, domestic are a little bit faster. and imports make great power per cubic inch but that comes with a price in cubic dollars, i can slap a supercharger on a brand new stock coyote 5.0 and make and easy reliable 650hp same with an lsx motor all for around what $11K BRAND NEW what would a new 2JZ turbo motor go for or what ever is hot these days? how much is a GT-R motor?

gtr motor $14k for a fully build one 800hp including turbos.] however rb25dett can be found for half the price and be built to the same degree. 2JZ $12k for better built one 1000hp including turbos. V8 are probably a better bang for the bug but it is fun to be able to rev to 11k-14k rps and here the turbo sounds. Now my 1g dsm in total build have invested $5750 and it has 700awhp to the wheels. $1000 rims and $700 seats not needed.

Paintdizzle17 What world do you live in a 2jz making 2000hp will cost you nearly 60K for a crate motor a current GTR running 800-1000hp will need at least a GTX3076 or GTX3582 turbos either set will be 13-15K alone for the turbos let alone the block build and supporting drivetrain mods it'll easily cost 40-60K to get a GTR to make 1000hp. A small block modular motor for example from MMR the 351XR crate motor will give you 3000+hp for just under 35K. And a twin turbo 5.8L modular motor spinning past 10K rpms is about 10 times more intoxicating than a 3.4L or 3.8L spinning just over 10K rpms. 14K rpm LOL are you smoking neither the 2jz or GTR motors will do that. At best maybe a built rotary will spin to 14K rpm then again its in a vehicle the size of a side by side whats the point. In the drag racing world small blocks rule 90% of it the other 10% the top 10% is owned by Big Blocks.

+nocoolname32 you can buy a honda for about a grand and throw a janky holset on it and have the block sleeved motor built all for under 4k and make well over 600hp. It wont be no drag car but it will be a street car ready for roll racing.

True fact - cube to cube the imports are faster - the current NHRA Super Stock /DX Class ALL TIME fastest record is held by a 2.2L S2000 running 7.93@176- 134 cubic inches - 1100+whp - OEM head/block - not some aftermarket abomination punched out to 500+ cubes --- the factory 2.2L motor held together to 800+whp for 132 cubes - Can you link us to an OEM domestic motor that makes 6whp per cube without blowing up? I'll save you the math - a small block making 2100whp on factory rods/cams/heads/crank etc...No? Didn't think so - you could slap the biggest turbo you could find on a Ford Cobra and watch it spew its guts out trying to make 6hp per cube ONE time and that motor was designed for boost from the factory - the S2K was not.

Thats impressive indeed. Imports are far from dominating the drag racing world. Cube for cube. Promods are making 4,000 horsepower with 500 cubic motors. Which is 8 horsepower per cubic inch. Top fuel v8's are the most powerful internal combustion engines per cubic inch. At 500 cubic inches they make 8,000 Horsepower thats 16 hp per cube.

It wont run 3.80 first off pro mod cars have 4000hp and run 5.7 thats 1/8 second top fuels have 8000 and as for sucking up a lot of gas same goes for a turbo or every other car they put turbos on cars to add more fuel to the ratio and for 4cylinder nitro methanes if they "could make one" that can beat a top fuel drag car why didn't they NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT v8s use twin turbo because they dont have as much lag any car can have a single turbo or a twin that was a stupid argument and 4cylinder wont stand a chance against a pro stock naturally aspirated and pro stocks have a certain restriction on their displacement

Titan motor sports also has over 200+K invested in the chassis design and another 60+K in the motor (far from a factory Toyota block). MMR, livernois, John Mihovetz have all done far better with sanctioned legal chassis (conventional steel tube not light weight carbon fiber like Titan) how do you think they ran there 6.01s at nearly 250mph ill tell you with factory Ford Blocks and not huge cubic inches either SMALL BLOCKS modular's at that LOL. Why would a 3.4L need two turbo's LOL it doesn't have the displacement to utilize them unless they where tiny turbo's. Import fans always always need to cry about something. Get your head outta the little tin can cylinders your used too and maybe you would realize big power and fast times can be had for thousands and thousand less IF YOU ONLY HAD displacement you could do it NA SC Turbo either three forms can and love nitrous also. It doesn't matter what 1 titan vehicle does it fits no sanctioning event its simply trying to post the fastest 2jz time by means of weight reduction now as the 2jz hasn't made anymore power for what the last 10 years LOL. you must keep in mind, these import cars are very small cubic inch factory motors, most of the domestic cars are aftermarket engines huge cubic inchs a lot of spray and a bunch of turbos to out run the little motors

Steve Polhill Cubes matter - the Imports are making more power per cube but ultimately more power will win --- when you start with an aftermarket block/head combo your not really running a Ford/Chevy/Mopar motor anymore - its just a V8 lump - thumping your chest about running a 400+ cube motor against a 180 cube motor and whining about being restricted is hilarious....how much of a cube advantage do you need to call it fair? Weight should be the deciding factor - 20lbs per cube should do - then we can see who is faster right? pound for pound

And you cant compare an engine that runs on nitro, it changes the game completly. The baddest methanol engines are producing 3500-4000hp at most? 531 C.I at 3500-4000hp compare to a 183 C.I that make 2300-2400hp, which is more impressive?

Import cars came factory with turbo to make up for the small displ. v8s did not, that's why they had to start turboing there rides to try to keep ahead of the import cars, leave the turbos off and see how fast you go with a v8 you will most likely get out run! look up Titan supra and there sion runs 3's

Nothing is running 3's in the 1/4 mile unless it is a jet powered car. In these events the imports are unlimited the domestics are restricted. In the end the old saying hold true ' there is no replacement for displacement' , the moment one turbos big displacement v8s,v10s, v12s, etc ..the power potential is immense.
