These privateers getting by with what they can and how they can are legends! More of this please! As the owner of a frankenbike myself, Shigura brakes, SRAM drivetrain, Galfer rotors. I would love to see someone on the worldcup with Shigura brakes ;) .. The lever feel of Shimano, minus the on/off, but with the stopping power & modulation of Magura. Actually the different piston design in the lever & the pistons in the caliper combine magically somehow to make a much more powerful brake than either of the 2 as factory. And a Magura MT5 setup is much cheaper than a Saint setup, or even a shitty CodeR.. but when you break a Magura leaver, the biggest drawback of Magura, an XT or XTR lever body is cheaper. So you combine the 2, & you not only save money but you get Trickstuff level performance for a third of the price! Combine that with Galfer rotors & you have a winning brake setup.. Sponsored team riders cant do this, but it would be so dope to see a privateer on it.. Any Shigura riders out there would know what im talking about ;)

@@ROSE-by5su maybe riding Shimano, but that could also just be team manager preference.. Heaps of Fox Sus riders wear Leatt, 100%, Dharco, Troy Lee, Alpinestars etc.. And that use Renthal, Burgtec, Deity etc.. There's actually not that many that are all Fox & Fox sister brands.. Far as I'm aware they're actually under different parent Cos after they split & got bought out.. There's no reason for Ohlins to turn away someone for wearing Fox clothing when even Specialized Factory don't wear Fox clothing.. It's just pure elitism is all..

Trek Factory Racing & Union both on RockShox, but Union wears a Fox kit, do you think RockShox turns away "Fox" riders? No, because Fox Sus & Fox kit, are 2 different companies..

They guy at the end, he seems to be French. Hello from America! He should know, I think he misunderstood, that finding some tires behind a van is a reference to theft. He might not know that in America that is a saying. He likely either purchased those or someone sent them to him as a sponsorship contribution.
@Happy_Biker3 ай бұрын
In this context though, the big teams will change tires after one race and discard the "used" ones; I doubt they are stolen.

I know some race teams will unofficially donate their good used stuff to privateers. Some of them are changing tires every run or two. Maybe there's some free used tires to be had around the pits.

Often the mechanics just leave used tyres behind the team paddock purposefully for the local groms and privateers to pick up.
