Need to read the ** at the bottom of article. Units are automatically battle shocked when transport is destroyed. No more killing a transport and unit jumps out to grab objective.

The math behind the Blood Yahtzee is interesting. You have *much higher* chances to get multiple buffs going than you might think. In fact the only one you don't have >50% to have with another buff too is Advance+Charge. Angron is actually substantially stronger with this version of Blood Tithe than he is in 9e. Awesome to see.

For Blood Surge, they CAN currently move within Engagement Range, just not of any Enemy that is not the closest. So, if they go into Engagement Range, it MUST be with the one they're moving towards. As an Example, say you have 2 units side by side, Robot Girlyman and some Aggressors, 4 inches and 3 inches away, respectively. Robot Girlyman shooting at the Berzerkers and kills a model. The Blood Surge you roll is 4 inches, so the Berzerkers move towards the Aggressors, which are the closest. They then CAN get within Engagement Range of the Aggressors, BUT NOT Robot Girlyman, as he is NOT the closest enemy unit.

I love the army rule. Literally rolling dice with the devil. Chaos armies feel chaotic and have a lot of choice involved in them and it’s perfect. Blood tithe was very cool but it really defined how you needed to play (horde eaters). I’ve been so happy with all of the chaos reveals, but this one is my favorite by far.

The only thing keeping Angron from not feeling horribly busted is that there’s nothing to keep you from shooting him off the board as soon as he shows his face. He has no Leader tag or way to get Lone Operative like Guilliman.

​@@samadams8533 you can for turn 1 or 2, until he wants to move to a unit to kill them Then he'd forced out of cover and proceeded to get shot anyways That or run into a 15 model unit of ork nobz and get absolutely destroyed in melee

He's gonna be a tactical nuke. If he's deployed correctly then he'll annihilate whatever gets close to him. If not, he's useless. Smart players will be able to set up some "Queen's Gambit" like ploy where the opponent has to choose to defeat Angron, or let the rest of the world eaters army score massive points somewhere else. Itll be fun to watch either way

@@samadams8533currently he has more than 17 wounds so he can not be obscured so if you’re in range it’s true line of sight. Also deepstrikes with 9” charge is never a good idea in my experience even with a reroll.

@@samadams8533 He has less wounds and deepstrike charges are unreliable even with re-rolls. His Toughness is slightly higher but some focused anti-tank can bring him down very quickly and he is very costly to return.

Literally went over to my table and rolled 8 D6 after the video to see if I could revive Angron with 4 rerolls from icons. Didn't even need to reroll. Got three 6s first try. If only I could roll 8s on 6 sided dice. BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD

Hey Bricky Just a heads up… If you check out the bottom of the page, where the *, ** stuff can be found below the ad mek reveal it discusses rules interactions with units being deployed from destroyed transports. It impacts the blood surge ability of the Serkers. (Loosing ability to hold objective via battle-shock). The cool thing is that stratagem counters this by allowing the destroyed transport to hold it instead.

Angron doesn’t have the TOWERING keyword, so he can benefit from cover and is entirely hidden from LoS by Ruins now

The hidden rule at the very bottom of the page: ** Note that you still can’t Blood Surge when your TRANSPORT gets destroyed - units forced to disembark when their ride goes boom are automatically Battle-shocked that turn.

Did you see the disembark/battleshock change at the very bottom of the article? There are quite a few changes to the core rules that are starting to leave me a little worried: 1. Squad sergeants appear to be gone, making me very concerned Exarchs will be relegated to a unique wargear choice for an Aspect Warrior squad, with no enhanced stay block or special abilities. 2. Losing the psychic phase and the extremely limited and inflexible nature of the psykers revealed so far. 3. The wording of the indirect fire rule heavily implies that you will only be able to destroy models in a target unit that are visible to the attacking unit. While this is thematically a fantastic change, Eldar rely very heavily on removing opponent's from objectives at range, as they don't have the durability to contest them directly. 4. And now it appears that units that disembark from a destroyed transport automatically suffer battleshock, meaning they won't be able to hold objectives. This one change will wreck Harlequins unless something else major changes, and it dramatically worsens the ability of CWE and Drukhari to hold objectives. It is definitely too early to panic, I just hope the game designers realise how these changes effect some factions far more than others.

I really like the eight dice mechanic. I feel like it's something we've never quite seen before. And 8 being the sacred number of Khorne, it feels quasi-mystical.

It’s essentially the Daemons warp storm from 9th, but better. Daemons rolled 8 D6 and got 1 point for every 4+. Then you could spend those points on a table

Kinda mixed on the blessings of Khorne. Seems like itll be better game wise but just feels so weird that your army rule is just. Roll a handful of dice, get buffs from the table accordingly

I dig it. You don't have to tailor your list to farm blood tithe anymore. I'm sure we'll also see more ways to either reroll a dice like the zerkers or possibly modify a roll.

I wonder if the Icon of Khorne ability allows you to re-roll more than 1 Blessings of Khorne die if you have two or more units with an Icon within range of an Objective Marker.

It seems like it works that way. That would help with fishing for a triple 6 out of 8 die, which is a hilariously low percentage. The more interesting question is how many WE players will just try to park 3 icons on the same objective just to meme while their chaos spawn literally carry the rest of the game.

Bricky Berserkers can move within engagement range currently, you needed to keep reading the rules on it. Basically Berserkers have the same exact ability now, they just made it more clear because people see "cannot" in the rules and stop reading lol.

The only difference is that currently they can get into engagement range of the unit that triggered the blood surge, in 10th it seems to be the closest so I guess it’s still a bit of a buff

Also, note that current Blood Surge causes the unit to fail any action they are performing, but this new version doesn't do that. More evidence that actions are going away.

Not sure if anyone has pointed it out but with the re rolling to hit ability applying at the charge phase until the next one, it will apply to the shooting phase the next turn too and well as in the defending fight phase in your opponent's turn.

angron's sweep is the Super Marine Killer; 18 attacks, hits on 2+ (with full rerolls), wounds on 2+ vs t4, forces marines to 5+ save, 2 damage, and that doesnt count exploding sixes or anything from blessings

Whoever at GW put the Invul save in the bottom right should be fired and replaced with whoever put the invul under the save for combat patrols. If it is the same guy they should just light him on fire and try again.

Im not a fan of the new army rule, it’s definitely more powerful(especially with the reduced lethality of the game) but the new luck for the luck god rolls feels so much less thematic/flavorful than making the blood flow. Also Berzerkers being worse than legionaires at melee on objectives(+1 strength Vs wound rerolls) feels super bad

Hard agree, even if these new rules are better they're so boring. Earning your blessings buy spilling blood with the blood tithe mechanic is much more thematically Khorney and seems more tactically engaging, get in there and kill. Now it's just roll 8 dice and choose blessings, so fucking lame and boring.

Running some quick math, you have about a 13.5% chance of getting three sixes in 8 rolls. With say, two rerolls via berserkers, it increases to 22% add a third and you're at 27% per turn to get Angron back. Thats statistically good odds, and given Angron can just deep strike, even coming back on turn 5 might be enough to slam in and wipe out a key unit to deny a winning hold for your opponent. If Amgron dies turn 2, across the three remaining turns, you have about a 34% total chance of getting him back with no rerolls.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the new army rule. I prefer Blood Tithe for a few reasons: 1. Thematic as heck, as the fighting becomes more frenzied and savage as the skulls are piled. 2. Made it so losing units didn't hurt as much. 3. Suicide runs were a legitimately viable strategy. 4. It gave the army a unique feel, and identity. 5. Feels like Khorne. But as for this one... 1. Doesn't feel very thematic. 2. Now there is no reason(that we see so far) to want your units to die. You will now be just as careful to keep them as anyone else, which doesn't fit Khorne. 3. Suicide runs are not viable, unless they have some purpose that would better fit Tzeentch. 4. This doesn't feel unique, just feels like 'roll dice and get lucky.' 5. This could fit half the armies in 40k if you changed the names and buffs.

Lookin' real solid here. I'd like for Angron's abilities to be more all-encompassing, as the are right now: NO ONE can fall back, EVERYONE loses OC, etc. Or at least one of those kinds. The +1 A option only sounds useful when you lost exactly 1 'zerker and have the whole unit fighting next to Angron. So yeah... they should start thinking about that one. Maybe also add +1 Str?

Knee jerk reaction was that it's too random and not as good as the blood tithe but I'm honestly now not sure. Still seems pretty good even if it's down to chance. Especially seeing as angron gets the buffs also.

I like the concept of the trade off with the Khorne blessings and Angron’s revive. Because (if I’m reading it correctly) by skipping on a Khorne Blessing, you’re essentially giving yourself greater odds of landing those triple sixes in the event that he dies. His high wounds is already gonna be a bit of a chore to whittle down, but the option of having that trade off ability adds a solid bit of variety

Not upset losing blood tithe. This will open up list building and not force a focus on just farming points. Angron losing the no retreat ability is rough, guess we'll see if they move it to a strat or something.

One interesting thing to note with blood surge, if the unit shooting at them is brhind a unit than the one in front cant be "charged" through bloodsurge, as its only within engamenent range of the shooting unit.

I dislike the loss of Blood Tithe. It was *such* a fluffy mechanic it was so cool Blessings of Khorne arent even bad, they're still fluffy, they just aren't Blood Tithe Edit: in Hindsight, maybe Blood Tithe is a rule that belongs more in Crusade than Matched Play. I do like that its less swingy depending on your opponent's list. As a Deathwatch Player whose local group's only Xenos armies are Votann and Genestealers, I sympathize

I did enjoy it but hated having to tailor my list to farm points. I think the blessing kept the flavor while opening up list building a little bit. (As much as you can with a small ass codex). And now you get buffs right away, which is nice.

But the blood surge is so good. You can move your units within their engagement range which in all pervious editions, you can't do that. Basically while they are shooting you can move it closer to do finishing blows. Oh boy. This is so OP

The chance to revive Angron with dice rolls (triple 6 in 8 rolls) is about 10%. Also means you're trading off advancing charge for Angron.

As a world eaters player I can say I love this. I am sad too, be losing blood tithe and I am glad Angron is going to change roles in my army from a bullet sponge I use to keep my army alive till I get into melee. Now he is a tactical nuke strapped to a train. And also the fear factor of even you roll the blessing seems peak fun. "Oh look I can advance and charge and have plus 2 movement"

Blessings of Khorne does not say you cannot reuse dice for another result. So two 2's can be used for Rage-Fuelled Invigoration AND Wrathful Devotion. I wonder if that is WAI. Oh, and current Beserkers can move into engagement range in 9th, but only to the closest enemy. Bricky stopped reading the sentence too early :P

Blessings of khorne = combo of the blessings from AOS blades of khorne plus the dice pool in warcry . Bloodtithe was ripped straight from AOS blades of khorne .

Regarding your early comment on crons, the other concern is the new Reanimation, in addition to not showing any characters in a character-synergy faction. Our current Reanimation, while swingy, is fairly essential to surviving 9th edition firepower. I'm personally not too worried though. I'd rather have the consistent trigger I can plan around, and there is a lot of combo and synergy potential. I'll reserve my salt until I see the leaders and elite units, how effective the reduction in lethality is, and (most importantly) how things are costed

The Blood surge ability the berzerkers have reminds me of the Black Templars Righteous Zeal ability from 4th edition. Also you keep mentioning that sweep attacks got worse strength and I can definitely see your point but the types of units you'd use a sweep attack against would still mostly get the same result.

This was a fascinating listen, then I heard that you can full revive Angron by rolling a 666 and I nearly passed out from cackling! Also, I really would like to know what the proper odds are of getting that resurrect off? Effectively what are the odds of rolling three 6's on eight dice? This would of course only account for the worst odds, since we could also add in the four, five, sex, seven, and eight 6's rolled chances, but I think this minimum would suffice for now. Edit: My (poorly thought out) math has the odds at around 25% if you only consider three of the dice are 6's, and just over 31% if any number of 6's will do (three to eight), which is DEMENTED in the best way possible, if true. BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!!!!!!!

I think it's lower than that. You're rolling 8 dice, odds are 1/6 of them will be a 6. Means you're likely getting at least one, and your odds of a second have got to be around 33%, so the third has to be a bit lower, though I can't do the math right now. If I were to guess though, I would think it's not lower than 12%

Hoo boy been a while for me on the math, so open to someone else fact-checking me. Kinda have to dust my brain off here. ANY 3 sixes out of 8 rolls works, so 3 sixes, 4 sixes, 5 sixes, 6 sixes, 7 sixes, and 8 sixes, anywhere in the roll, are all valid outcomes. (I'll try to use the literal numerics for my actual values, and written out numbers for explanatory numbers). As in most questions like this, it's easiest to count the 'fail' cases. You have 1,679,616 possible combinations of 8 six-sided dice. (5/6)^8 times, you have NO sixes : 390,625 results (or 0.23, if you divide by 1,679,616) 8*(1/6)*(5/6)^7, you have exactly ONE six = 625,000 results (0.37) (because there are 8 different places that one six could be) 8choose2*(1/6)^2*(5/6)^6, you have exactly TWO sixes = 437,500 (0.26) results (because there are 8 choose 2, or 28, different places those 2 sixes could be) Every other time, you will have at least three sixes, so 1,679,616 - 390,625 - 625,000 - 437,500 = 226,491 (or 1-.23 - .37 - .26) Which amounts to 226,491 out of 1,679,616, or 0.1348 (13.48%).

@@GalisSlipscale Around the same time you posted this, another video came out looking at the World Eaters Datasheets, and the pic was Angron with a big 13% on it, so you and Kamike get the medal for being in synch with everyone else apparently XD In any case, I went with "8 choose 3", since you had to get 3 dice in a set, so the additional one might be where I went wrong lol

Chances of resurrecting Angron is about 60% each turn. 84% with Favored of Khorne. Waaaaay higher if you can rr single non-6s.

So depending on Knights. You could do Angron, A knight, and a Blood Thirster in the same list? With Daemon Pact and assuming you can bring a single knight to a non knight army? Use remaining points for Zerks and Jahkals for objectives and Blessing rerolls? Sounds like fun to me.

man blessings of khorne seem SOOO swingy imagine a person rolling double 6 double 5 turn one, just turn one army wide advance and charge then lethal hits, going from "i cant close into melee until turn 2" to "i kill half your army turn one" hell just double 6+any other double gives you advance and charge AND a +2 movement, the threat range on things like 8bound will be insanely high that feels really really swingy and angron coming back on a tripple 6 now, current angron can come back really reliably, you WILL get the points to res him through a game this one might jsut never happen, its SO unreliable, its a 10% chance to get 3 6s on 8d6, lets say you have 2 zerkers always rerolling your non 6s, so you effectivly have 10d6 to get 3 6s thats a 15% chance if angron dies turn 1, you have a 48% chance to get him back by the end of the game.....48% it just might not happen at all, OR it might happen on that 15% on turn 2, and you get a full health angron back on the board its SOOOO swingy, you might jsut roll bad and never get him back, or roll insane and get 3 angrons in one game, i REALLY dont like that actually, it takes out a layer of skill (you could manage your points before and basically intentionally sacrifice things for the points) and replaces it with pure RNG and a HUGE amount of rng, a 15% chance to get a 300pt model down is an INSANE spike in power also with the zerks having 4 attacks, reroll hits is literally ALWAYS better then the +1 attack, as in even if you CAN get use out of the +1 attack on every single unit in range of the aura, the reroll hits is still better with a 3+ hit, 1 attack is equal to 0.67 hits, with 4 attacks on a 3+to hit, reroll hits (even discounting extra things like sustained or lethal hits) is 0.89 hits (4 attacks hitting on 3s you will drop 1.33 on avg, you reroll them and get 0.89 avg hits) even if we assume its only jackels getting buffed, and they hit on 4+ with 2 attacks, +1 attack is 0.5 extra hits on avg, reroll hits is 0.5 extra hits on avg the reroll hits is literally ALWAYS better, you should never ever pick the +1 attack, there is literally never a situation where the +1 attack is better then the reroll hits

Angron comes back a little more reliably than that. Your math looks like you were calculating the chance of rolling exactly 3 6s, but since you can also roll more than 3 (eg 4 6s), 8 dice with 2 rerolls is actually a little over 22%. So with that, if he dies turn one you have a 64% chance of bringing him back. Still no guarantee, but the rest of the army might have other tricks for making that a little more reliable too.

There is a possible circumstance where +1 attack is better than re-roll hits, depending on what other abilities the WE get access to. +1 attack is better if you already have a source of re-roll hits.
