Do it. It’s such a blast. I’ve been to matches in Hertha, Bremen, Nürnberg, Bayern, and a shitload of regional league games, and the fans are so fun and welcoming. Then there’s the wurst and beer. 🤤

I lived in Germany 3 years including one year near Frankfurt and one of the things I miss most are the Sunday breakfasts. I lived in a W.G. (wohngemeinschaft) which is a communal shared house space and we used to have these long all-day breakfasts with variety of small bread rolls (brötchen), cheeses (we were vegetarian but not vegan), spreads, herbs, many different condiments and endless tea and coffee. Sundays were/are still sacred, with most businesses shut, and people would eat long breakfasts and maybe go for a communal walk around the local parks including right through the big city. Still miss those German Sundays of relaxed grazing and wandering. Great way to see out a weekend then slump into a coma until Monday.

The green sauce, or Grune Sosse, if I remember correctly is full of parsley, watercress chives and most importantly sorrel, a herb much underused in my opinion! But why does it have to be so thick!!!!

I first thought that Eli Mengem had grown old, until I realised that I recognised the face and the voice from somewhere else (mainly Food Network UK). I have been a fan of Adam's shows for ages, and of COPA90's derby days, too (although Adam precedes COPA90). I moved to Germany a few years back and am quite familiar with Frankfurt, as I have family there and used to work there, so this episode is just a bit unreal. My sister is a HUGE SGE fan, but I am not really into football that much (aber einmal Waldhof, immer Waldhof), but when it comes to food ... take it away, Adam!

Glaube, das weiß er, weil er es auch so sagt. Er war nunmal nur in Frankfurt im Stadion als Sinnbild für das deutsche Stadion-/Spieltagserlebnis, daher diese Auswahl, weil Bratwurst und Currywurst gibts in jedem deutschen Stadion. Die Auswahl war eh komplett kacke für Frankfurt, keine Äpplerkneipe, dafür n Muddi-Frühstückscafé etc.
