​@@anteprs7908 They either listen to the lamest of the lame and gut job's identity or listen to the elites and pump out limited content they're just gonna run tools on anyway. So if they're catering to the top 5-10% and 80-90% of them are just running add-ons then we're truly catering to just 1-2% of the overall playerbase...I would understand the added difficulty without tools, but this all just feels like a waste of time. And it hurts everyone including those who don't run the stuff cuz it's time attention and resources that could've otherwise been used to make something else for 75-80% of players or further bolster what's already there OR, at a minimum, maybe stop putting as much time and energy in to their difficulty. Sadly, I don't think these things will ever be properly addressed. They need to drop their whole 'no 3rd party' crap and/or stop making stuff for people who don't appreciate and respect the work they put in to it. If the Devs have to clear that crap to make sure it's doable, they can do the same, lol. Only takes one bad apple to spoil the bunch and there's plenty enough of those to go around these days. 50/50 shot you throw a rock in Limsa you're gonna hit someone running some kind of cosmetics. About the same amount of odds you're within earshot of a Bard Orchestra, lol. They're not even bands anymore FFS! xD

It sucks the excitement out of hard content, the world first race was already not hype because this already happened, now it feels like, what even is the point when even major, well known players have been caught doing this like Mr Happy with the RDM from the Balance Discord last time. It's embarrassing that this keeps happening but no one really gets in trouble so now we have to assume everyone is cheating. Like what even is the point of having this content if it's just a cheat fest so severe, people stay incriminating themselves with their own posts?

@captainziggy82 The RDM got caught using Splatoon, Mr Happy continued anyway and was actually defending them online. You can look it up, a lot of people were mad and loads of posts are still up. That one just sticks out because him and the Balance discord are 2 of the biggest faces of the community in FF14 that still get so much attention and shine by the devs even though they fully got caught cheating too. If the most well known players are doing it and nothing even happens to them, we get where we are.

It has a few features - one being that the dot changes color to notify you on how far away you are from a boss or other play - i.e. players glow red if you're too close, glow green if you're the right distance away for spreads, stacks, proximity baits, etc.

I have been watching on the drk pov and its simply sus from the get go as it have the drk pop up in the middle of the screen. Its obvious that they are cheating alongside timed inputs for actions and even perfect synced movement with little to no deviation based on what I saw.

Any addon/overlay/plugin/code injection/hooks that give any tangible in-game gameplay advantages should be a bannable offense, this includes automatic text-to-speech callouts, timelines, auto-markers, auto-chat-messages for mechanics, modified marker visuals, etc. Also, cheating in world-first races should get more severe punishments than ordinary cheating. Also **fistbump** yes, Black Mages keep it real!

Pixel perfect is as name says on the tin. There is a pixel that is under your character hit box which allows people to help know where your hitbox is. So if something looks like it hit your character but doesnt that because it might have covered part of the character but missed your hitbox. Tldr this addon shows where ur hitbox is with the dot to help accurately stand in places that some might question themselves.

Imagine all the floor is exploding and there is only 1 dot being safe. This mod will let you know whether you're in the safe spot or not by changing colors from red to green, so you can kinda know that you can dodge the mech. It won't lead you at the very least but knowing that a spot is safe in an Ultimate race is a game changer.

People act like this is something shocking? People use 3rd party things to get an advantage that is legal because it's hardware, things that costs extra money, like wide screen displays, or MMO mice, or keyboards with macro buttons. People use other 3rd party things that give them an advantage, like recording software, like a VOIP program, hell, even other human beings as a support team. Yet the FFXIV community want to claim this is cheating? Have they checked their own PF's? The argument of it not then being legitimate yet ignoring the insanity that then people demand AM in PF for Ultimates. Ok, so anyone who has cleared an Ultimate with AM, that clear is not legitimate and their weapon and title should be taken. The argument of it being outside the game ToS, well then the modding community should be annihilated since it's against ToS but it's not, and I don't think Preach even got suspended for having chat bubbles visible on stream whilst playing. People will make up whatever argument they want because they are upset that a non stream team, using the resources available to them finished first, when those that streamed used the resources available to them and didn't finish first. To have them not win Frosty's "World First Race" with his guidelines is whatever, cause that's a competition with rules defined for it, but the group who finished first on Stream (Kindred) still did not get the world first clear of FRU.

It's crazy that people think that this red dot is such a big deal. I can't thing of any place in this fight where it would make a massive difference. The use of ACT, FFLogs and streams/videos for reviews of cooldowns and planning should also be banned then since it's all 3rd party tools that are outside of the game and also have a bigger impact.

Turning on the crosshair feature on a monitor will do the same thing. You can track a specific point on your screen that way too. The only people losing their minds over it are all the people not doing ultimate prog. The other teams don't care, the dot isn't that deep. 🤷‍♀

This is inaccurate - and yes most everyone uses addons so most world prog teams are used to it, but the general community would prefer the race keep it's integrity and transparency. It's disappointing to see the best players wouldn't be "the best" without addons helping them solve mechanics. Expected but still a let down for viewers.

Honestly pixel perfect isnt game breaking to warrant 'cheating' status.. at least 95% of raiders use fflogs or ACT which you could may as say we are all cheaters.

FFlogs does not give you a gameplay benefit during the fight itself, though, so it isn't cheating. Pixel Perfect on the other hand gives you tangible gameplay advantages during the fight through visual cues, so it is cheating.

@@kyoai I don't think you quite understand where I am getting at here. In order to use FFLogs you need have installed ACT. ACT on its own can give a significant and overwhelming advantage WAY more than Pixel Perfect basically providing you the callouts before they even happen. Honestly the only people I see here complaining are the non raiders or minimalist raiders because all the actual raiders have mostly in part acknowledged GRIND as the world first even Kindred themselves.

Act can, because it's a plug-in hub not a plug-in itself, be used to cheat. So while the arguement isn't 1-to-1, it is worth noting that act can house game altering assistant plugins like cactbot and it's difficult to know if it's just being used for things like dps meters or a cast bar graph or if it is not.
