And I learned here that it's in Siem Reap. For some reason, my little Canadian city has many Cambodian restaurants. One is called The Royal Angkor and one is called Siem Reap. I never knew the origin of the name for the second one before.

100%. I owe it all to Mr. Pearson, my 8th grade Geography teacher. Our one assignment for a whole semester was filling in a world map with countries, capitals, major rivers & other features-all using the information from the back of our atlases (this was 1979, so no internet). We had to find the latitude and longitude of every capital. When we colored the map, no two adjoining countries could be the same color. It was one of my favorite classes EVER.

@@neilgouws6962 The Vienna Kangaroos are an Australian Football Club based founded by expatriates - it is a stretch though. You can of course also buy a 'No kangaroos in Austria' T-shirt in Vienna. Oh, and some wallabies did escape from a farm in northern Austria some years ago, I don't know if they caught them all.

Interestingly, many of the countries and cities mentioned in the questions, I have visited before - Dubai, Abu Dhabi (driven between them many times); cities in N/S hemisphere Bangkok, Johannesburg, Jakarta, and Canberra ; Angkor Wat in Siem Reap, Switzerland, Netherlands etc. *Really* love travelling. While I wholeheartedly agree that Americans live up to their cliche, Australians don’t have the poor USA education system and learn far more about the world. I can name every country, capital, flag (including dependency’s) as well as most official languages, natural features (eg major rivers, lakes, mountains or deserts) and at least basic history of every nation on earth. It’s important to understand the whole world we all share not just our own little corners:)
