WIC is the funnest and most realistic military RTS game I ever played. It's hard to believe the game is now 10 years old from the Windows XP era. This game deserves to be recognized as a classic and either rereleased or continued as a series. Fortunately the game is still available for download purchase through amazon and GameStop for just $10. It works great on my laptop even though I have windows 10.

This is quite reminiscent of Tom Clancy's Red Storm Rising. The Soviet Union faces a catastrophic situation and initiates a sweeping invasion of Europe to avert it. I might actually get around to playing this game.

I like the look of this game. Unlike games like red alert its realistic and hasn't got an over the top story as well as futuristic units like weird electricity spiders from red alert.

you cant compare apples to oranges. Red Alert, Starcraft, Supreme Commander are all great sci-fi RTS games. World in Conflict, Company of heroes are the more realistic ones that fits your taste

PRO TIP: If you want keep playin Wic in multiplayer install GameRanger or Tunngle, they are like virtual servers and are pretty easy to use.

Would make sense why they make Anti-Tank teams, AT mines, and AT bombs. And no they are not, tanks can't go nowhere near as many places/terrains as infantry can. It also can't be transported as easily, and costs more in expenses. Not to mention, snipers play a very important role in the military and are definitely capable of taking down armored vehicles and defending/taking strategic positions.

I never said that they still use their old Cold War hardware, did I? All I said was that the US have a very high-tech military, probably the best in the world. Right now there is a group of engineers working on project TALOS, look it up, it's "ridiculous" what they are claiming they could do with it. I don't like the US, even as a citizen, I just think that their military would crush.

you're right on alot of things except firepower. i mean, do you kno how much the u.s. spends on their military per year. theres a chart that pretty much dwarfs other nations in that aspect and even if russia does have more firepower, its most likely outdated as the soviet collapse in the 90s crippled them dearly. so the only big threat i see is china.

The Soviet Union backed out of the cold war because Gorbachov realised the arms race against the US was becoming too expensive to continue. If it were to continue, the Soviet Union would've needed to change it's economy into a war economy. Something like that isn't sustainable for a long period, which meant the Soviet Union was going to stop existing either way. It really was the best choice for the well-being of the Soviet/Russian population.

Do they explain in the game why the Berlin Wall never came down? Seems to have happened independent of the Russians. I do remember it at the time and it really did seem to come out of nowhere. There were many books written during the Cold War about a possible nuclear conflict including one I have called "The Illustrated History of World War Three" that only has two cities nuked in it, ripped off!
