The bass for this song is preprogramed in ableton live. Peter is using a Oberheim OB x8 and a roland rd. Martin is using two Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol midi controllers. The video screens during the song showed various photos of Andrew Fletcher taken by Anton Corbijn. The set for the show was great and covered almost all the albums that Depeche Mode released

Just look at the video. When World In My Eyes starts Peter is not playing the bass line. Martin is not playing it either. The Oberheim OB X8 is a brand new release. The Roland RD stage piano has been used by peter for years. Martin's keyboards say Native Instruments on them. Native Instruments only makes MIDI controller keyboards except for Machine. I don't know what the keyboards are controlling. My guess would be software synthesizers or Native Instruments own Kontact sampler. I saw the video for Enjoy The Silence and the bass was preprogramed as well. Depeche Mode have been using Ableton Live on tour for years. With Andrew's passing last year more parts are needing to be preprogramed into Ableton Live

pretty sure the bass parts for many of their songs, including world in my eyes and enjoy the silence, have always been pre-programmed. they're repetitive and have a bunch of effects applied on them, so i don't really begrudge andy for not having played them. that said, you're giving him way too much credit in assuming that they had to overhaul their live arrangements because he played very little on stage and they wouldn't have had to make many significant adjustments... let's not forget that when andy took some time off touring during their 1994 tour, alan was able to teach their personal assistant who hadn't touched a keyboard in his life ALL of andy's parts in a single afternoon
