Okay, so, if they're gonna do the thing where this guy's wife is doing the voice-over for the Commune and it turns into a sort of love story, it would be super interesting if she was still in love with him. Think about it; each "spokesperson" (for lack of a better word) is a representation of their country's national spirit. Nat France is built on righteous anger, longing for the glory days, and a desire for revenge on those who wronged them. The Commune is a Syndicalist state; Syndicalism promises a hope for a better tomorrow and ultimate liberation for the workers. It would only make sense, then, that the Commune's spokeswoman would still be hopeful. She didn't leave her husband because she hated him or fell out of love, she did it to join something greater. Surely, she would tell herself, her husband could understand that ideal. It would be a great drama builder, too. The wife, still loving her husband and worried about his disappearance (I assume that she tried looking for him when she got the chance, only to be horrified when he was nowhere to be found), hoping that he can be found and convinced of the Revolution's truth. The husband, angry, bitter, and hurt, allowing himself to stew in the seeming betrayal of someone so close to him, waiting for his opportunity to strike back. This would be a cool meta-commentary on the nations, as well as offering a ton of different routes for the romance itself. It could be tragic, with the husband unwilling to forgive his wife. It could be hopeful, with them somehow making up (maybe an ending where France is somehow reunited peacefully?). Or, it could be somewhere in between.

When the soldier talks about how if the army had just a little more time they could have gotten at least a white peace, but were then "betrayed" by the workers that took part in the general strike, I get strong OTL German "stab in the back" myth vibes from that, which is most likely intentional and definitely not at all indictive of the kind of people that make up Sand France.

National France would have zero chance in this world in a realistic scenario. But this is great lore. I hope Denis does find solice eventually, even though the counterrevolution he is describing will fail to occur unless france loses the second weltkrieg, which is up in the air at this point ( If the CSA wins the civil war, the Internationale definately wins the second weltkreig, and they are the strongest faction in america,and they stand an 80% chance of winning completely) but if they lose, I doubt the Internationale and russia can come out on top against a stronger germany, the only way they win on their own is if a syndicalist revolution forms in germany, which is actually possible, especially after black monday, but not entirely likely. In short, germany has long odds in a second weltkrieg, especially considering they don't have blitzkreig tactics ITTL, but they do have a worldwide empire, more resources, and a stronger manpower pool, complimenting an army that is about on par with its adversaries and they do have an OK chance at winning, or at least surviving. There is about a 55-45 chance that Germany makes it to 1945 in favor of the Internationale/Russia.

Looking back on this video it’s interesting to see that the Narrator kind of lies. The World of Kaiserriech Doc says that it was the soldiers who rebelled first followed by the workers. The narrator also believes in the final offensive stuff, that it would take just a little more to break the Germans. Which is only a half truth as both sides where weak but France had no extra American soldiers to help with such a breakthrough. It’s like he’s stuck in the mentality of the generals. Scapegoating decadent urbanite revolutionaries as the reason they lost when France was already on the brink of collapse.
