Haven't seen a sprint car fly that far off the track since Bloomington during Indiana Sprint Week years ago....that dude landed on a pickup truck in the parking lot.

Was there that night, my car was 2 spots away from the unfortunate truck. Was in the stands watching it unfold in slow motion. Closest I was physically to was back in the mid 90s when Tri City in Pontoon Beach was a half mile, Outlaws were in town, and someone flipped over in turn 3 and we were watching from outside the track (past end of Willow Walk street where we would park our pickups and watch) as that car was flipping right toward us before finally stopping about 20 yards in front of us bogged down in some standing water. Amazing machines, glad no one was hurt seriously in any of these instances.
