Its purely a high risk game of chance put on for those wanting to witness carnage. The day is coming when multiple drivers are severely injured or worse because of this staged spectacle. It sounds like people are into this “4-wide” pack racing? To me it’s just so bizarre looking and a perfect set-up for wrecks like that big one. These cars are so “equal” that Busch’s 8, when trying the outside lane for a pass, just gets left behind? I dunno - the skills I see here are: how to push a car in front, how to avoid traffic incidents like you’d get on a freeway, and how to get wrecked. It was cool to see, I guess, but the notion that “any number wide” is anything special is just dumb when thirty cars can go four abreast at Talledega for lap after lap. Pretty boring and seems like winning is just luck at this point.

@@mifo2000 yes 4 wide looked cool visually on a TV I don’t disagree but it exposed the problem with these cars. If the track was 16 or 20 feet wider they would’ve been 6 wide

Talladega ain't what it used to be...the only reason they have 4 wide racing is because the cars can't use the draft to pass anymore...those leaders just hit a wall of air. Typical of Nascar "racing" nowadays...just bunch everyone up and hope for a bunch of wrecks. The racing was so much better when handling mattered and cars could use the draft to pass.

Idk why some of y’all are putting all the blame of Brad for the big one when he just happened to be the second car in a long long of super aggressive pushing late in a Talladega race. That was so many people’s faults that it becomes useless to point fingers cause you just make yourself look like you weren’t paying attention. Every single one of those drivers in that line, including Cindric, would have done the same thing. Being in the “front” of a giant multi car push doesn’t just make you the sole driver responsible. In fact, in rewatching it, Logano was the one shoving Keselowski into Cindric means he technically holds the most blame as the main pusher. But also had impaired vision due to having another car in front and not enough time to react to any spotter call that may or may not have happened to make him more aware that Cindric was coming back to the line. Either way neither of them nor anyone else had much time to prevent the wreck and even more couldn’t avoid it once it had started…it’s just Talladega being Talladega
