The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series made its inaugural stop at the historic Fairbury American Legion Speedway along with the always exciting Lucas Oil POWRi WAR Sprints and immediately left an impression in the heart of Late Model country. Even some of the die-hard stock cars fans were left with their jaws hanging after watching the likes of Kyle Larson, Donny Schatz, Sheldon Haudenschild and the rest of the Outlaws blaze around the famed quarter-mile.
Hunter Schuerenberg took the early lead, but it would be brief as he would suffer mechanical issues shortly after taking the top spot. Sheldon Haudenschild assumed the point and held off charges from the Shark Racing teammates of Jacob Allen and Logan Schuchart to take his 4th World of Outlaws feature win of the year.
Mitch Wissmiller jumped out to the early race lead after chugging along the bottom, but eventually the FALS cushion came around and Landon Simon and Thomas Meseraull were there to capitalize. T-Mez followed Simon up until the waning laps where he decided to let it all hang out and threw a HUGE slider on the 24 machine but could not complete the pass. Simon went on to win.
