went to the most obvious bush that light tanks go to on that map . i am shocked he didn't get MORE blind fired and killed straight away. Also .. almost all gold ammo.. seriously. i never carry any. got some nice shots off to be sure without being spotted "point's for that". i would say that YES he had a good game but i feel that his team did most of the heavy lifting. his starting spotting location of obvious and not great for early spotting and just went to reacting from there. despite all that he did well and had a good game. so Kudos and nice game mate!

@@Aurorik78 Getting a team with more than 2 brain cells is a bonus. Usually such a team will steamroll the opposing team. Having a decent/good LT player in your team is such a boon, especially on Malinovka because is it a famous/notorious map for the cross-spawn sniping. Although, I have seen way too many tanks getting utterly destroyed within 5 meters of the spawn.

Credits are not *that* much of an issue as long as you don't fire too many gold shells and don't play TX only... Distance yourself from the idea that reaching TX and only playing TX tanks is the goal of the game, just look for tanks which are fun regardles of the tier (well, maybe at T5+ or so...), play a healthy mix of tiers and you won't have that many issues with credits, especially when you can play some T8 premium tanks from time to time. Playing tanks which don't require gold to perform can help as well. Overall: I still can't recommend starting with WoT anymore. It all depends on how long you've been out though, but if its like 4+ years: Just don't...

@@Xelianow Definitely longer. I never shot gold and I had some T8 premiums, I think. Definitely one. I just calculated how much I have to play for some tanks and it was a lot and got boring. Besides everybody wants to reach the highest rank and have T10 tanks, even if you don't play them that often. Look at WoWs. I never have to sell ships in order to get new ones. Much better.

It's not as if T10 is a fun tier to play to begin with considering about 70% of all matches there are T10 tanks only - and T10 matches are a pretty toxic, hypercompetetive gold-spam-fest, and thus in my opinion the most unfun tier to play in the entire game. Reaching tier 10 is *not* the goal of the game. Playing tanks you have fun playing - thats the goal. And your calculations for reaching certain tanks might be quite misleading. There are a lot of opportunities today to get premium days, which gives you access to 5 3x boosters (multiplikative on top of everything, including daily victory), 100% exp boosters or sometimes even 5xEXP missions. As long as you use those during grinds and just play regular, non-grind tanks the rest of the time you can progress through tech trees pretty quickly without much trouble. And WoWs is a pretty bad example imho. Credits are entirely worthles there, you can just buy everything whenever you want, which kinda... defeats the point of a currency. When i stoped playing WoWs i had like half a billion credits and nothing to do with it....

You know what makes a great scout, a good team capable of hitting what you are spotting.

What makes a great light tank player is also knowing which enemies your team *can* actually hit. Spotting a hulldown T110E3 is nice and all, but without arty it's worthles. Spotting tanks which are behind a ridge line for your team is also useles, so is spotting enemies while your team is spotted in return and can't get out of cover without getting killed. Also when you notice that your team can't/won't shoot at your spots: Go somewhere else and spot somewhere else where you team actually is... Most light tanks complaining about the team not shooting their spots just do not realize that there simply *wasn't* anyone to shoot them. On top of that: A single tank or two tanks behind you just can't instantly obliterate stuff that you spot. Tanks have reloads, tanks need to aim, tanks can bounce. When a JP E100 bounces one of his shots because RNG said "lol nope", then there is a 20s time befor the next shot. 20s where.... well... nothing happens to the enemy.

Back in 2017 when I was still playing this game, I had my best ever scouting game in the 59-16 on this very map - it's a light tank player's dream, especially if you can get into an early, aggressive spotting position. I dunno how well this would work these days, but I chose a bush at around F5, pretty much right beneath the hill at F7. Got 5k initial spotting, then movied beneath the hill and got another 1k, followed by some active scouting to kill the enemy arty and clean-up for 7.9k damage total. Not Jingles worthy by any means, but damn good for a %50 player in a tier 6 tank in a tier 8 game. Kudos to Mr Blackevile for triggering some memories in a jaded, old gamer like myself.

Start of the match: Questionable choice of position, team didn't use his spotting, cause 2/3 of his team went towards the hill. Those who remained in base died quickly thx to more agressive spotting of the enemies pusing around the south flank. So, one could argue that in the first minutes the only benefit of his spotting was knowing which enemy camped in base. He stuck to the bush way too long. The next position (11:15 battletimer) was a good choice for a quick check before pushing along under the cliff, but again, stuck too long to it. You could call it playing it cautious, but I'd say much too cautious. If you check the minimap here, his team has the hill completely secured and stare down into the forest. Charging down that hill with no spotting is suicide (note how the 60TP lead the charge and died as one of the first tanks at 11:01 BT and still ende 4th on dmg done and the 2 who followed him got stuck in a dangerous spot.), this might have worked out MUCH better for his team if blackevil was allready at the other end of the cliff. The next position he played fairly well, nothing to criticise there, exceopt beeing like 2 minutes late. At this point it's basically a free win, if he doesn't die without taking down one or two enemies with him. The enemy team was way too passive. and not very good. Blackevil's team was better, but pretty passive too. Perfect situation for a light tank to be in. So, yes, this result was mostly down to luck and a slightly better team than the enemy. Not saying blackevil played this bad, but nowhere near as good as to deserve such a crazy score. Still entertaining to watch.

Without taking anything away from anyone who plays an LT well, actually doing well in any match, is totally dependent on your team being able to think and breathe at the same time and actually shoot what you are spotting. As the AMX13-105 on the enemy team proved, he had a pretty awful game, because even though he appeared to be working hard to spot, no-one was shooting at anything he spotted. Of course, that could also being due to the fact that his team were dropping like flies, thanks to blackeviles team actually shooting at what he was spotting.

There is a handy mix of driver skill of the light tank itself but also decent team mates. It doesnt hurt to give your team a headsup on where the enemies might get spotted, so they can preaim before they even get spotted.

I havent played much wot besides 2-3 arty games a week when i was enjoying my meal, when i started yesterday the launcher in hope for a caravan event i only saw another crew rework, in my opinion instead to rework crews and put more and more tanks in, it would be a way better solution to finally introduce a mechanic that rewards you for your tank role, like heavy bouncing dmg getting for that more exp/credits, lights for spotting more then doing dmg, tds for doing dmg etc. It would force some teamplay back in when it was before normally but thats just my opinion.

I don't think "base" xp in WoT works like you think it does, mr overlord. The T95 who did 0 damage on the winning team has more than double xp compared to all but one of the enemy team. Doesn't seem right.
