The standard pen is, but standard pen is mostly irrelevant since you should be firing gold at anything with armor. And 263mm the gold pen is terrible when the average for Tier IX tech tree mediums is 299mm (and 6 of the 14 tanks actually have 330/340mm). Further, the only Tier IX med with worse gold pen is the T54E1.

Hey QB! As you mentioned the "low pen" it reminded me the pen-armour race developed in a couple of years. This race gave birth of the Patriot and the infamous Defender. We don't need high pen. We need weakspots. One should not pen reliably the JagdTiger superstructure even with premium rounds in my opinion, it has a weak lower- and midplate. Besides Tortoise has 226 pen until you grind 81300 XP, after that experience there is no low pen. 😁

The comment where QB says, "you can't pen heavy tanks from the front reliably". And I'm like, Well if I drive a heavy tank with good armor, that's exactly what I want. If all tanks can pen all other tanks from the front, where is the stratigic thinking in this game. If all you have to do is to press the 2 key, then it's just no use playing. All tanks should have different characteristics and if you have good armor you want to use it.

I agree with you. I think having a slow moving fortress rolling at you should really make you think twice about sitting there and just letting it roll up on you. Dabbing the 2 key to just punch a hole through like the face of the E-100 really sucks. I'm not saying that it shouldn't have weak points like the lower plate, but having a special ammo that totally bypasses the specific purpose of your tank is just poor game design. It just makes you not want to play the super heavies at all.

This is probably one of the most balanced medium tanks, let alone new tanks introduced into WoT in a long time. I don’t really think that it should be able to just pen the fronts of equal or higher tier heavies or be able to play the long range support role. I think wargaming did a very good job balancing this tank and it will just need an effective commander to make it perform on the battlefield.

I always prefer the tier 9s because there's something fascinating about carrying tier X guns and pointing it at tier VIIs. And in some cases it's the same gun the tier X version of your tank carries.

@@fsdhuy Same with the Japanese Heavy...I was facing a Type-4 Heavy the other day and the tank's entire frontal armour was red. The lower hull was yellow but I could not penetrate it. I decided to just load gold and what do you know, I could suddenly pen the lower hull of a Japanese Heavy. I don't usually use gold ammo but in situations like the Japanese Heavy or a tank 2 tier above me, I have no choice BUT to use gold.

This tank was designed to use 10.5 cm STRV 103 gun, so even if it is shortened I hoped it would preform similar to the 105 mm L7. Maybe on the lower side 250 something but down to 230 feels like a joke for something with mobility similar to Centurion tanks...

The Udes 15/16 can easily block shots when covering ridge lines. I have blocked 4400 in one game and 5200 in another game. Both of which are on wot replays website. Damage was not impressive. but blocked damage was. In case people want to see in game name is alphaceti.

The UDES 15/16 is even more broken than the Super Conqueror when hull down, it's basically invulnerable to all but artillery at that point, and arty just got nerfed in the last patch so... Id expect a nerf for this line in about a month, along with a nerf for the Kranvagn, because its 'too good' (even though its actually fine atm).

I found out that they are pretty weak against HE shells, not full damage, but pretty high. With the borsig derp gun, i do from 600 up to 800 hitting the front top, compared to the 200-300 i do to other tanks.

Is it worth playing any tank that has low pen and poor aim? Experience is strongly influenced by (personal) damage, and doing damage is mostly dependent upon penetrating. Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful tank. Sure it can pen tier 8s, but if that's your goal just get a tier 8 with reasonable pen right?

I've also been penned in the cupolas with this tank which is really silly considering the armor isn't that reliable. One game you'll bounce E3 rounds and then someone in a grille will hit the side of your gun, pass through it and penetrate the groove that the gun sits in which is hilarious. The gun is really unreliable I agree. Hoping the tier 10 is better
