So, we’ve got a bit of bison, prairie foxes, wild horses. eagles and pronghorns. Had you ever heard of pronghorns before? Me no. They’re sprinters and marathoners being able to spring at 90kmh over several miles (or kilometers) Wow. Impressive. Alas, no prairie dogs - my mistake. They’re featured in an upcoming episode! Anyways all you nature peeps, enjoy!

Aren't pronghorns the cousin of the shamwa in europe/asia?

Was very happy to see and hear of these animals living wild in the US- I did wonder how old this was since I know the mustangs have been being rounded up in large numbers but I do believe we are going to revert back to caring more for all of these animals- thanks for this

It IS an excellent Episode. And can stand up with no problems to the more well known Series. Though one thing i think SHOULD have been added to the part of the - Bison - story. How many Bison were shot and killed as to deprive the native Indians of their main food source? And either let them die of hunger . Or force them into a - Reservation - .

I was going to input a comment about this as well. I thought they just didn't want to get political about it but there still could have been an asterisk on the screen or something.

Yep...I watched quite a few documentaries here about the slaughter of the bison - and I wept! There was one rancher who gets all the credit for saving them...and they shipped some to Canada as well...must rewatch them...shocking part of the history of great USA...but most countries have them and some still do untold evils against their own, native people...

Just after the 15 minute mark, is what my late Dad called The American Superchicken. My Dad could be a jokester, but when on a jobsite, he was all business. His motto was Work Hard, Play Hard. I got to see more of America than most other Americans because of him. Been in all of the States west of the Mississippi River except North Dakota and Minnesota. And all the States east except the New England region.

At 22:40 an invasive plant comes into view, the Russian Thistle was not around in the Wild West until about1890. It appears just after Boris and Natasha come to America unknowingly bringing seeds stuck to their clothes.

I love how it’s supposed to be a prairie episode but 90% of the footage is from the Rocky Mountains

The American bison wasn’t just hunted for its meat and hide They were almost hunted to extinction mainly to run Native Americans off of our own land because bison were the main source of food and shelter for Native Americans💯

1000% correct...shocking! there are films here showing passengers/cowboys shooting them from moving trains! for fun!! That was not that long ago but it is still unbelievable what kind of mind set towards animals people had those days...and how much we have changed and are still changing...

I didn't know that the bald eagles lived in prairies; I thought that they stuck to waterways instead.

Oooooo...I am hardly breathing here watching those amazing, award winning videos! Absolutely brilliant! Those mustangs! And those eagles! They are the true Kings of the sky. They own it! Foxes were too cute and wolves magnificent. I only wish there will be more and more documentaries to follow after I finish watching those available on playlist! I am missing part 1...what happened to it?..? Anyway, million thanks! xoxoxox

On the prairie, bald eagles regularly nest along rivers due to the amount of trees along their banks. Youll barely ever see them in vast open prairies

wow! You don't say??...amazing!...That slaughter was unimaginable! I watched documentaries here and wept...same can be said about African elephants...over 4 millions were roaming plains of Africa just 100 years ago...now they are down to just 450 thousands! Whole herds slaughtered, Mothers, babies and magnificent bulls....did you know tusks are passed in DNA? And because majority eles with large tusks were first to go there are more and more tuskless elephants being born...and those huge tuskers are extinct - less then 20 now left in a whole of Africa...to depressing to think about it...
