Word from the composer himself! That is so cool, and I am very glad you liked the rendition! When my son was born mere 3 months ago me and my girlfriend were listening to Anduin's theme constantly. And whenever he started to cry or was restless we'd put the song on, and he would calm down immediately. That is where the idea to make this cover came from, and a great deal of inspiration for the lyrics came to be. So thank you for the music Neal!

When I first started playing World of Warcraft 12 years ago, I was 8 years old. Probably around the same age as Anduin. And since, I've grown up alongside this character. Seeing him turn away from violence to seek peace. His sense of adventure and skills as a diplomat in Mists of Pandaria mirroring the whimsical nature of childhood coming to terms with adult responsibilities. Just as Anduin is coming to terms with his own role as king of Stormwind, I and many like myself are facing the real world for the first time. A world of loss and hardship, but also one with a bright future. Thank you for sharing this piece of art.

Shit, I almost forgot to listen to this today. As an Alliance main since late '04, I love the idea of the Alliance's metal style being more of a metal anthem like this. I also love the use of the Stormwind/Anduin themes. If you ever were to write a song for the Alliance as a whole, I would recommend basing it on the piece "Wolf at the Gates" from Warlords of Draenor (The alliance garrison music). Another week goes by, and this song is still criminally under-recognized. It's brilliant.

Not gonna lie, sounds awesome. Nothing i'm going to say next is literally saying anything is bad, but more of preference. So with that being said, i think this cover and other WoW covers could use more of a metal feel to it... it seems that your vocals suit something of that style a lot more. Less clean vocals, more screams... but not to the point that its death metal. Gritty. Also, you should look at the style of viking death metal/melodic death metal. Tone it down less on the screams, and have your amazing clean vocals on top of the usually good instrumentals, and the style. Everything would fit you and the atmosphere WoW has. Plus i can see you doing really fucking well if you keep up the WoW covers. Coming from a World of Warcraft fan, don't be nervous, this is a really fuckin' good cover.
@Kugrox6 жыл бұрын
You just told him to use less screams, and more screams, in the same comment. You don't need more screams man, the deathmetal genre is full of people who just have to scream their way through songs because its all they can do. You aren't like that. You have an incredible fucking voice, The best i've ever heard. Get yourself an agent, and you are going to be making some fucking money. I think the only thing holding you back is, and I know this sounds stupid, but your work is too good. It needs more repitition, hollywood LOVES repetition. Your songs are also too wordy, making all those name drops of Kalimdor and Admirals and all those specifics, hollywood can't do that. So if you wanna make it big, unfortunately, you'll have to basically, 'describe' those specifics rather than flat out name dropping. That way itll appeal to a broader audience, thus making you more money. Obviously, we all love the name dropping because it hits our nostalgia, but for your FUTURE and your CAREER, you'll have to play ball with hollywood. Truly my man, you have more talent than entire bands.

This is the hymn of the firstborn son Forged by the grace of our mothers The strength of our fathers wisdom I gaze upon the might of his empire Great halls of righteous fire How can I hope to save your throne? After listening more then a hundret times to this song I HAVE to say something: The lyrics are really touching for me. My dad passed away thirteen years ago. He looked like king Theoden from Lord of the rings. And in some ways he ruled like a king. Especially the second verse hits me: “Deep in my mind his voice remains. Calling out, telling me to smile again!“ it always remembers me of him saying: “One day I am gone. But you will never be alone, daughter.“ And today I finally can smile again, because I know he will always remain in my memory!^^ Just wanted to tell you, how touching your lyrics are! :3

Brand new to your channel and videos. This is the second bit of your work I have encountered. Firstly... let me state that through my life, music of various genres have evoked different emotions in me - some even tears given the right circumstances. As I listened to this song on my way home, I didn't know what was about to play and immediately I was transported back to Stormwind 12 years ago, my first REAL experience in gaming and footsteps into the amazing world and lore of Warcraft that covered my teens and early adulthood. (Crazy it's been so long.) Then, I heard your lyrics. The moment you sang "All that I am broken down on the shores of my dreams," I was immediately fast forwarded back to the current expansion and watching Varian Wrynn's death on the Broken Shore. Excellent, EXCELLENT, writing here. This song filled the lower lids of my eyes as just raw epic emotion filled me as I pulled into my driveway. I immediately grabbed my phone - stopped the video and ran in to start it over in my headset so I can hear the true epic scale of your work and I am glad I did. I am envious of your skill (I say skill because TALENT cannot do this. SKILL and WORK do this) and wish I could just have a sample of your vocal capability for myself. Your composition is just... I'm not really sure how to describe it other than it fits into that niche, that perfect nook of sound that hits the musical pleasure center of my soul every time. You, sir, are amazing. Liked, Followed and now commented. Thank you for what you do. Sincerely, Riley O'Hogain.

I know I'm way late to actually putting a comment on this video, but I just wanted to express my love for the work you've done here.

I'm so glad to hear that :) The Warcraft universe means a lot to me, and I am glad the cover resonate with other fans as well. That has always been my goal with these covers.

As a Horde player in World of Warcraft, this right here makes me want to switch and defend the greatness of Stormwind. Great work, my friend. Cheers.

It's always awesome to see these videos from a few years back where the musicians are amazed that they have over 10k subs, now they have hundreds of thousands or millions :) Idk why I always feel so happy seeing people succeed? Either way, you definitely deserve it and this song is awesome lol. I like the newer version even better though :)

I came across this by chance looking for some ambience music whilst actually playing World of Warcraft. As a Gen-X person, rock is my go to music. This was fantastic and allowed me to submerge in the game a bit more. Well done young man! Keep them coming! Rock on!

About 5 years of WoW, and 4 of those were spent with the Horde. I can only say one thing to this. For the Alliance, and for King Wrynn!

This has given me such inspiration that it's helped me develop plot points for my Dungeons and Dragons campaign. It actually genuinely brings tears to my eyes, it's done with such passion, and I can really imagine Anduin singing this. Would love to hear a rendition of Lament of the Highborne or a similar Horde-sided song.
