In August 2018, The Danish Broadcast Corporation (DR) aired a concert entitled ”Gaming in Symphony” performed by The Danish National Symphony Orchestra /DR SymfoniOrkestret with The Danish National Concert Choir and various soloists conducted by Eimear Noone. The concert was hosted by the legendary TV presenter Jakob Stegelmann. The music performed was titles from a wide range of video games such as World of Warcraft, Assassin’s Creed, Call of Duty, Hitman, Final Fantasy and many more.

They are things from the vanilla wow cinematic the burning crusade cinematic or even old warcraft 3 cinematics. She did work on Warlords of Draenor music but not the original ones.

The Burning Crusade Cinematic music was by Neal Acree, not Jason, though that is not what's being played here, it's the Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne Intro Illidan Cinematic music, which was by Jason, yes. Also, Call To Arms was a collaboration with Jason Hayes and Glenn Stafford, not just Jason.

It´s the same with Wrath of the Lich King's intro, not his composition, but the famous Arthas melody that is its centerpiece is also Hayes' tune for The Frozen Throne ending cinematic. Didn't know about Call to Arms being a collab, do you ahve a source for that? The ones I have are a bit conflicting.

Japan has done this since the mid 80s with Dragon Quest as the first VGM played by an orchestra, and it's becoming more and more common for orchestras around the world to play video game music. If anything, it has helped many orchestras to survive financially.

After the first gaming-concert prior to this, they have ramped up and are doing 2 pop-culture concerts every year, running 3-5 days each and they keep getting bigger and more impressive. The last one I attended was cartoon-themed and the choir and orchestra numbered over 200. Next month its a revisit to Morricone. They usually hire in guest conducters with some connection or passion for the subject. For example, Eimar Noone here is an avid gamer and wrote some of the music in the later expansions of WoW. At the show I attended, when asked about her preferance in faction, she responded with "For the horde!".
