I'm actually enjoying Ägir a lot! She's fast, nimble, can hold her own tô a point, and has awesome AP shells. Plus, her concealment is amazing. I'm really loving this ship. Thanks for upload, Sea Lord!

Same, really enjoying my time with Ägir, HE and AP both work suprisingly well, also having torps for backup is nice. And, of course the concealment and maneuverability are A+

@@jimk8592 So, I have a 15 point captian on her at the moment (simply because I wanted to train that specific captain) and these are the skills: - Preventive Maintenance - Expert Marksman - Superintendent - Concealment - Fire Prevention As for me the modules, I can't remember all of them but I'll do my best. - Armaments Mod 1 - Damage Con Mod 1 - Either Turret Turning or the Dispersion one - Rudder Shift - Concealment Mod - Main Battery Mod

If they had 60mm on the plating around waterline like other tanky ships it would be great and unique. Now just a copy of Alaska / kronshtadt

I believe Flamu a while ago during the testing of the New class KM ships showed that these would've had 60mm cheeks that would make them sgnificantly more tanky than they're now. So much for historical correctness..

For some reason my Agir constantly overpens everything I shoot at that should not be over-penetrated. German BBs, overpen, Soviet BBs, overpen.

Agir was originally supposed to be the brawler of the two with the Siegfried being the more ranged focus ship That is why the Agir has better torpedo angles and more secondary guns. However WG decided that the Agir was to powerful with it's secondary compliment and decided to reverse the roles of the two ships.

The kronshtadt was only available for around 7-8 months. It was first introduced in the victory day patch in 2018. It was then removed in early 2019 alongside the Musashi.

Free exp'd the ship cause why not (got Alaska, got Yoshino, no need for Azuma) and frankly, as you say, it's ok. Would disagree on the guns. Gunnery-wise, the Aegir is pretty underwhelming. It can be quite consistent at times, but so is Alaska and while you call Stalingrad questionable, Stalingrad mostly derps out at ranges the Aegir just does not have. Apart from accuracy, the HE pen is cool, but the alpha is poor, the AP is okish, but easily the crappiest of any AP, given Russians get pen, USN gets improved pen angles, an Azuma if it ambushes enemies like Aegir would have better accuracy, the Aegir... and Siegfried I don't have, but I guess given shell count, it is more felt when thigs go amiss. Now, that is not to say Aegir is bad (still can crap on any broadside cruiser at any range), just thinking that compared to other supercruisers, the guns aren't special. And that kind of is by design, I guess. You get IJN levels of concealment, great speed and handling for a supercruiser with nice armour. It's like, while Azuma is the better ship to hit when you pull an ambush, Aegir is the better ship to pull through with it once you pulled the trigger and you do get torps at T9. It isn't on a level with Alaska, which is pretty great, maybe too great, but if you look at average T9 cruiser, Aegir ain't bad. Personally, I don't think this'll be a personal favourite, but can be fun. But hey, I played a ton of Yoshino and Aegir is not that dissimilar as a large cruiser with similar handling, similar hp pool, tanky when angled properly and with torpedoes, just Yoshino at T10 obviously is more powerful. People who want Aegir, free exp, yes, money, ehhh, no. Ship has no historical value, ship isn't insanely great, if you want to spend money on a T9 prem for economic purposes, Alaska has historical value and is a much better deal with much more consistent performance. If you want a supercruiser with torps for gameplay alone, grind the free exp, play Gneisenau or go and grind a Yoshino. Don't throw 70 bucks at WG just for the Aegir. And I say again, IT IS NOT BAD, but it's friggin 70 bucks. You'd also not spend 70 bucks on a Donskoi, would you? And that also is an ok T9 cruiser. Also, for build, I highly recommend EL. The ship needs it. Personally, I'm a cheap captain, I use the same AL Hipper captain I use on Bismarck and would use on Odin, which is PT, EL, AR, SI, MFCS, FP and CE, but as I cannot recommend secondary build on Aegir, a dedicated Aegir captain would swap out the MFCS with DE and PM (to keep those guns and torp tubes alive).

With the siegfried, yes if you do not aim properly the shells go all over the place. When you aim correctly though they stack on top of each other. Between my first 2 games I sat at about 18km range and averaged a 47% hit ratio. I can't comment to much on the couple games I had played the day after cause I was lagging hard. But the Siegfried is definitely for players that can aim.

I have 2 Alaskas. I got the Black in a crate or something, that's why. Agir is cool but I already have the better ships in the Alaskas. The 1 million FXP cost isn't bad if you intend to play it a lot.

I'm loving Agir so much, I stopped thinking about Siegfried or Alaska. I'll never do RB, so I'm cleanly giving up on Siegfried... and I wasn't interested in Alaska in the first place... lol. Agir is MY Alaska, and I'm simply having a blast... lol. x)

I wish they'd just introduce an official battlecruiser class so these large cruisers and squishy battleships can be balanced better in matchmaking. You really cannot treat something like this or an alaska as equivalent to, say, a seattle or a neptune, when it comes to team composition.

i have not played Ägir but i have alot of time on Tirpitz and it's a very brawly tanky ship but kinda inconsistent guns, the guns on Ägir seems alot more consistent but the ship is not as brawling tanky mostly for what it seems it dont have a ice breaker but side hull looks solid, at times you will want to show more side instead of taking it in the front on Ägir just like Siegfrid cuase front will just be overmatched. But handling should be a wastly better on Ägir then Tirpitz, she is the normal slow rudder clumsy BB and i think Tirpitz have 22% torpedo protection but i dont remember, now that we can "Show in Dock" it's easy to see on ships we dont have, just my smal oppinion on this for you

@@jhettm.4286 Ägir is a cruiser, Tirpitz is a BB. Pick what you rather want. Yes, Ägir guns are more consistent in hit rate, but they are not BB guns. Ägir armour is pretty cool, but it is not BB armour. You go up against an Amagi in Ägir, you fail to angle or they know where to aim and you might lose half your hp through overmatching hits on the bow. Tirpitz has no such issues. They are different ships for different purposes and you have to figure out whether you want a BB that also carries torps to win every brawl or a cruiser that can has punchy derp guns (for a cruiser) and a can do torp rushes a good bit better than your average Roon.

Evangeline Thanks for the advice and yeah ik they are 2 completely different ships with different play styles. I’m just starting to think Agir is the better option just for more consistency in the shell dispersion and the overall fun factor of the 2 ships but I also understand that Agir is the more challenging of the 2 to play because her bow isn’t as armored as a BB. So it’s kind of a odd trade off but I still think of the 2 Agir better overall for my type of play style

The guns are not exactly the same. The stats are basically copied but the penetration and air drag is different. The Ägir‘s guns are actually a tiny bit better when it comes to penetration. edit: at least i believe so i heard it somewhere so dont know for sure

If i have to buy or xp 1 the agir will be the one im leaning to get guns with torps my kinda playstyle down side torps are only 6km. But all in all i dont play wow much have the game about 5 years or so and im on T8 😂😂😂

I Gusti Praba apparently WG tried to “nerfed” RU ships for some reasons. Replacing Kirov w Kotovskiy (basically a techtree Mikoyan), Slava and Kremlin nerf, twin barreled gun CL, etc2.
