Polish navy in WoWs is still more legit and relevant than the announced Chinese tech tree.
@jakegalvin54309 жыл бұрын
Chinese.....really
@thehungrywolf33239 жыл бұрын
+Jake Galvin It is WG so of course. I mean, they only had 2 heavily outdated classes of light cruisers (which were build by and captured by the Japanese early on) and a handful of foreign build destroyers that did next to nothing during the war. Also none of these were designed by the Chinese, nor build by them. After the war they gained a few Japanese, US and Soviet ships. There was no domestic naval industry or designs during this time period. This is going to be even more of a rehash tech tree than the Chinese tech tree in WoT. At least that tree has some Chinese designs. Also there is going to be the issue of which flag they are going to use, since it was the Nationalists that had the navy, the commies had no ships but since it is WG they will probably give it the communist flag which will give me major aneurysms

Throughout WW2 my father was actually a very young sailor on the warship 'Błyskawica' and was in Cowes during the attack, as well as all of the other missions you mentioned in the video. After the war had ended, many returning Polish military men were imprisoned, tortured or killed by Soviet Communists on their arrival in Poland, so he decided to stay in England, where many years later I was born. _[Btw, as the West was celebrating the end of the war and freedom, the Poles were still fighting the Soviets in villages and forests for a further eleven years until 1956, and hundreds of thousands of them were killed! Not many people in the West talk about THAT or are even aware of it!]_ Incidentally, my sister's Godfather (my fathers friend) was also a sailor on the warship 'Burza' during WW2. Unfortunately both my father and 'uncle' are no longer with us. Just wanted to share.

Just wanted to say Jingles, the rundown on the service record and history of the Błyskawica was very well done indeed. I am a war veteran myself, and I found hearing of the actions of the ship and her crew was very moving. I am really glad I bought this ship. I already love playing her, and knowing about her history makes her even more special. Thanks for the outstanding video.
@Steevo20049 жыл бұрын
That was me in the Gnevny destroyer:) However: 'as soon as I died we lost the game' is a bit presumptuous at best, at that point the entire team was already behind on ships and HP,and our chances of winning where pretty slim, I even said to you we might still win it (and that I died soon after... ). You might make good videos jingles, but you are not the centre of the universe when it come to games. A bit of humility might make do you some good :) Tip: try shooting AP at cruisers when you are at close range, you can actually penetrate the citadel pretty easy with that high rate of fire you get in a destroyer.
@The_MightyJingles9 жыл бұрын
+Stephan Wind And yet as soon as I died we lost, with only one other player on the team doing more than 575xp worth of anything and the rest of the team combined failing to sink more ships than I did. It's not presumptious if it's true. And you'll note I did give credit where it was due.

+The Mighty Jingles Jingles how come you havent looked into the russian high tier DD's? lack of interest?
@letome16769 жыл бұрын
By mechanics you mean engines, guns, etc, you mean critical hits. They are very common on DDs as they have no armor. The flooding only occurs if the holes are below the waterline. The case will most likely be above the waterline as DDs will be fired upon on short distances making the firing arcs more straight.
@lolroflroflcakes9 жыл бұрын
+Taisting the Air Because even with AP a battleship can easily blast away two thirds of a destroyers health in a single salvo with a few hits, it would just be unfair if they also started flooding.

It's literally the slowest turning mid tier battleship in the game, Even the Kawachi, the tier 3 Japanese BB turns faster than that monstrosity. And jingles says; "It's pretty manoeuvrable." :/
@ias24249 жыл бұрын
+Quantum Shock pretty sure the turning radius is much better.
@QuantumShock19 жыл бұрын
ias2424 Nope. The Japanese ones are the only ships that have a wider turning circle but that doesn't really matter if it takes a ship almost 20 seconds to start turning anyway. A ship could have a turning circle of 10 meters but it wouldn't help if it took 20 seconds to begin that turn.

I have worked as carpenter, restoring old houses (I am dame good at it, I can recreate any advance decor in wood, with ease) - I have worked as shipbuilder (wood, Fiberglas and metal) - I have worked as an historical boat-builder (use only axes and ropes to build boat, I can handle my axes, can you?) - I have worked in the furniture industry, producing high quality wood components to one of Scandinavia biggest luxury industry (Ekornes ASA) - And now I am working as an Industrial carpenter, producing stairs. and I am operating on a machine that stand for more then 40% of all stair production in Norway. (and I have certificate of apprenticeship as an industrial carpenter) - I have helped with calculating and locate boats that have sunk, by studying how the weather was that day, and how the sea behave. - I have rescued people out in there boats. when the weather have gone bad. - I always help my family with anything, due to that I have where limited with free time. And I am just 27 years old, what have you done...? Oh BTW. I have also helped with design and adjusting of design details on small yacht.

I must say that we were very warmly welcomed by English people - especially by sailors in Portsmouth showing us wide choice of beer available in the pubs ;) is there any possibility that you have served at the time in Portsmouth and maybe we did met? But I would definitely remember your voice then... so answer is probably no ;) Anyway thanks for the video and love your work :) regards tom

Actually there were 3 Grom class destroyers built by the British. After the loss of the ORP Grom, a new destroyer was built and it was ORP Piorun which also means thunderbolt. Piorun took part in sinking the German battleship Bismarck, where the two ships exchanged a few salvos at night. ORP Piorun survived that encounter and served the Polish Navy until she was given back to the British and had her name changed. So Jingles you've made a slight mistake, but I still enjoy your videos and I learned a lot from them. Thank you very much. :)

If I'm not totally mistaken the detection Formula should be something like this: Caliber of your Main Battery in m * 30 = Stealth Debuff in km So in this case 120 mm guns: 0.12 m * 30 = 3.6 km detection range increase when firing. Surface detection (without camo) = 7.7 km -> With camo (3% buff, not 5% like you said in the vid) = 7,7 * 0.97= ~7.5km 7.5 km + 3.6 km = 11.1 km detection range when firing. And if look carefully at the video (18:00). Given that the Icon for Situational Awareness takes a short moment to disappear after you are undetected, the formula seems to be pretty much spot on. (Oh and you have to add 2km penalty to that Formula for Russian DDs, which was part of a nerf they got a while ago, because they stealth fired way too easily. So on a Russian DD it would be: Caliber of your Main Battery in m * 30 + 2km Russian gun penalty = Stealth Debuff in km)

Just got myself one of these. It is truly an epic ship. Seems to be very good at setting things on fire. It's so fast and maneuverable that it doesn't matter if you get seen because you can dodge incoming fire very easily. Even american cruisers end up running away from you if they find themselves in a 1 on 1 fight. In 4 battles so far, I am averaging about 1800 xp per battle and I have not been sunk yet. Great fun if you like to just go zooming around with all guns blazing.

I suggest watching iChasegames videos on invis firing. It's not 4 km. It's less. Also you can improve both detection range and gun range with captain skills and with modules. I guess this thing will be able to do invis fire just fine. Same thing with torpedoes. Most of the time you can shoot at the target before they enter 8km range. If the torpedo moves roughly twice the speed of the target, and if target moves directly toward you, you can achieve hit at 12km. Sure, this is usually not the case, but you can add 1 km to the torpedo range quite often. Good way judge this is to switch to torpedos, and watch range circle on minimap. Check where the target icon is aiming, and at what point it will enter you firing range circle.

I reckon you, Mr Jingles would easily get a job doing voice overs and presenting History documentaries. Your voice just fits the role perfectly and with your Naval and historical background...... Well, call the BBC or I will! ;)

The fun part of the Blyskawica comes after some commander perks. Advanced Firing Training will give you a 14.3km range on the guns. Concealment Expert will give you a 6.7km on DDs and upto 6.3km on carriers. That's a LOT of invisi-fire!

Jingles- I HAVE had a similar occasion with your detonation there... fair enough, I was in the Phoenix at the time, but I did nearly 60,000 damage with 5 HE shell hits, and 1 torpedo. No fires, no flooding, two detonations against an enemy phoenix and a cleveland. I then got wiped out by carrier torps and finished the game having fired 3 salvoes from the guns and one torp spread :D
@Schmeethe889 жыл бұрын
+Schmeethe88 Oh, also, in regards to getting spotted there- the 20 or so seconds where firing increases your range of being detected, they don't have to SEE you shoot, if you fire first then come around the island you're still "bloomed" from the shot.

Hew, Jingles! I'm Polish and I couldn't help myself when you said not to laugh, but you did a pretty good job actually, very good pronunciation of it in fact, i don't want to be the guy that nags you, but you only got one letter/sound wrong and that was the Ł thing at the beginning of it, but that's okay, everyone thinks it's an L. Love your videos by the way!

12:20 You mean 3.6 km for 120mm guns, and 3.8km for 127 mm and 130mm guns. No destroyer has the detectability range increase to 4km unless they rock 140mm guns. Sorry for pointing that out, but it takes some of the steam from your argument there. Enough space is there for a skilled player to invisi-fire.

+Jingles For some reason this video is stopping every 5-10 seconds. First time I've seen that happen, and there's no problem with the buffer. Only happens on 1080P, seems to work fine at 720.
