Yes, it's a tier 9 premium. Yes, I said I wasn't going to review every new premium unless they've got something interesting going. And, well, it's not a unique feature, but hey, it's a British light cruiser, I kinda had to.

I first encountered a Plymouth while in my Friesland. He had hidden behind an island and was undetected until I came around the corner. It ended quickly and not in my favor.

Definitely a very good DD hunter, however having meh AA at this tier is very painful especially with the op tea cv plague going on

This last game would have been no problem in Minotaur. Even coming back to the game after 2 years and watching your videos on new ships I still like Minotaur. The game does seem to h\ave changed. I could control a flank alone with Mino, but without a lot of masking terrain you can’t do that anymore.

Interesting ship. Guns look good. But im not sure if i want to bring a t9 cruiser with relativ weak aa in these cv flooded t10 games(thanks to the british cvs). Also again its expensive

Both Neptune and Seattle have higher dps. Neptune is a pure damage dealer, basically an oversized DD, Seattle is a pure support ship, and can hold her own in a T10 game. Plymouth is a bit of both, but not as good as either of them in their respective roles. Doesn't make it a bad ship, if she had Neptune's torps or Seattle's AA, she'd be op.

I enjoy my Plymouth. I got lucky with a few spins of the sonar sweep. It does its roll very well - deleting dds, and controlling objectives. Not my highest damage output ship, but holds it's own in a tier X game.

Just saw the ship in a bundle again - when you compare the stats with the Belfast ‘43, it seems like an uptiered ‘43 with radar 3 instead of 2, an extra barrel per turret (which is nice) and an extra torpedo, but without the DFAA and without HE shells. I think I’d rather face a t9 ship in the ‘43 than a t10 in the Plymouth…

Imo not having HE is actually good since it forces you into the agressive playstyle that British CLs are known for. Plymouth can deal heavy damage against most ships within 8-9km, and while the lower torp power means she needs more time to kill BBs, her suite of skills make her more valuable to a team compared to Neptune.

Tier 3 radar is a joke. It should last longer by 5 seconds that would give it 2 salvos.

Yeah, I was a bit disappointed as well. The additional range doesn't really mean much, since you can't really hit a DD at 9km anyway. I would have much rather had a longer duration

Whats your top game with wimar? Was able to snag a 94k ish game. Its not uncommon to regularly get 40k to 50k damage games. My issue is I keep forgetting to use the planes 🙃

I didn't realise during the battle, but whatching the replay, those two BBs would have been rather useful in B cap right about the time I was engaging the Donskoi. Also, if I had spread out the torps, I might have been able to catch him, but I thought he'd go behind the island

So I’m upset about spending lots of gold on this. I’d figure thr radar 3 would be a good thing to have, but I personally don’t like it because I don’t like The Edinburgh. I’d rather play the Neptune then this. Good video and can we get a Le Terrible Review?

Yeah, I'll hop back on the French DDs after my vacation. Plymouth isn't a bad ship per se, but there are a lot of compromises to pay for the smoke/radar/sonar combo, dps and AA being on the top of the list. Personally, I'd rather sail Seattle or Neptune as well, and now that I've said it, I'll probably have to make a video or two about that...

The dps is lower than both Seattle and Neptune, due to the T8 reload. Combined with the lack of torpedoes and AA, it's a steep price to pay for a radar and sonar.

Not a 100% sure how much plymouth could be compared to neptune To me she looks more like an upsized edinburgh with a side of belfast mixed in

Well, she's a Town class, technically - what the Edinburgh was supposed to be, so yes, that's what she is. Neptune and Mino are different designs altogether. The reason I'm comparing her to the Neptune is because that's the T9 tech tree alternative, and as such, if you're after a damage dealer, the better alternative.

IDK. I've got about a 70% win rate in the ship. It's very strong. DDs should just off themselves if they happen to be on the same side of the board as this cruiser. Let's say you're in a Shimakazi. Ur out there, living the three torp tubes dream. Then you run into this low visibility cruiser.. Oh ****. Let's torp the Plymouth. Nope. Plymouth has sonar. And it just landed 8-10 British cruiser AP rounds into you from a single salvo. They're slow, but man that smarts. Now you're like, run away! So you turn and blast out the engine accelerator. But you're still in range. Plymouth can't do much to Vermont at this range, but the British 6" AP works just fine on you. And two more salvos came in. Ur jamming the heal consumable, also probably trying to fix guns, torps and/or engines. So you do what any DD captain does when out of options. Pop smoke. The Plymouth burnt his sonar, so ur invisible, right? Nope. The now cocky Plymouth just flips on the radar. One (or two if not gud aim) salvo later and you are back in port. Plymouth used some of his awesome, but still has Beatty onboard and 2 super smokes, so off he goes looking for more places to spread his wretched hive of scum and villainy.

But let's say ur in a Vermont. Ur living the Vermont dream. Going around, one shotting all the Smols that everyone bought last week. Putting citadels into everything else on the board like ur navy Ken Griffin. Life is good. But there's this g-d Plymouth. U ignore it, because it's only got 4 rubbish Brit torps and they're out of range. And then 16 AP hits u. 8 bounce and the rest don't do much. U keep ignoring the stupid T9 cruiser and focus on putting your freedom into Yamato's citadel. Plymouth doesn't even have HE. It's the Lipton of cruisers. Well, maybe PG Tips. He's not a Brit CA. Naturally, u off Yamato... But things are annoying. That limey is still putting AP into u. And he's found your g-d bow. Time to spread some more freedom. U target Plymouth, and Beatty immediately pops smoke before you get a salvo off. The smoke cloud is huge and Plymouth's guns are super slow. No blind firing. So time to spread freedom to the Iowa with the idiot driver. But you repeat urself, all Iowa captains are idiots. Two salvos later the smoke is gone, the Iowa is gone, ur health is 2/3 gone, and the Plymouth is still at fullish health. U put gud a salvo at the Plymouth, but he's bow tanking cause he's got 8 guns forward. U smile tho.. u got this. .Boston Tea Party time. Nope. He's got British superheal. Bags of Twinings are now coming onboard. Because Twinings also sucks. Now things are serious. Plymouth's able to bow tank. The Plymouth closes while bow tanking, and then times his next swing against the next barrage of 18 inch democracy. The 4 puny torps come in, along with more 16 AP into ur bow at close range. Another salvo and it's all over. More scum and villainy. Plymouth is the Yorkshire Gold of British ships.

Looks good-mediocre but t9 mm is the worst so imo no thx The only ships that dont care about the mm and pure power of t10s is neptune, Minnesota and friesland.. so for me its a no thx Uk cv need nerf asap, reload and hp of planes is way too much Why do british people call it bri‘ish? Cause they drink the T 🤣

T9 can be a pain. In cruisers, it can be manageable at times, but T9 BBs suffer from the big firepower jump in T10
