Ok I'm two minutes in. Love the music, I was able to get the Mainz and she is on her way to becoming one of my top played ships. I love light cruisers and German light cruisers are amazing. You showed how bad ass she can be just right there. Anyhow it's been a while since I have left a comment. She is so much fun to play. I hope some day we get a German light cruiser tech tree line split.

Like the line can split from nurnburg at tier six. IDK what ship would go next but the heavy cruisers would be obviously the Yorck, Hipper, Roon, Hindy line.

These would have to be M-class light cruisers. They had four twin-turrets, so they'd have to give them faster reload, maybe a reload booster like the Mainz, and probably come up with some gimmick for top tiers - you'd have 8 guns on tier 7 & 8, and 12 guns on tier 9 (tech tree Mainz) and 10, with faster reload, some additional ship skills, maybe better manoeuvrability but worse armour, closer to the existing ones, or maybe something like 6.5km torps.

Mahlzeit!! Ich habe dieses Schiff jetzt auch gekauft als es im Angebot war . Ich bin begeistert. Mit der Hipper gewinn ich keinen Blumentopf. Mit der Mainz ist alles viel leichter . Ein richtig guter Zerstörer Jäger . 2-3 volle Breitseiten und jeder Zerstörer geht unter . Der größte Nachteil der hipper ist die lange Ladezeit und die relativ unpräzisen Geschütze Und mit der Mainz freut sich jeder Träger wenn ich am Anfang die ersten Flugzeuge vom Himmel hole .

Ja, ein sehr gutes Schiff. Ich spiele Hipper normalerweise aggressiv, so dass die Präzision keine große Rolle spielt, aber auf kurze Distanz gegen Zerstörer muss ich dann zu HE wechseln, da ist Mainz auf jeden Fall besser.

So glad I managed to get this ship, guns are like lasers. I run double gun and rudder traverse. Loving it, played about 20 games and averaging over 50k damage. That's high for me lol

I just played my first match in the rental Mainz--dealt 79k, got MVP, and sank two ships. I was always intrigued by this ship and it plays even better than I had always imagined. Definitely sad that it's just a rental

00:26 see that red number that you get when you citadel a ship. I was in my Lyon and that happened when I hit a destroyer 🌚. But destroyers don't have citadel ;-; Can someone explain to me how that happened

DDs do have citadels, but they're very hard to hit. Back in the early days, when it was still called "critical hits", you could 2-shot DDs in the Nürnberg with the massive damage that did. They made it very rare now, but it still happens sometimes.

Yes, that's absolutely viable. The accuracy is great, and the guns work well against BB weak spots, too. She's definitely more dangerous against DDs than e.g. a Hipper. The "brawler" build is just my personal preference.

Still watching all your old videos, this is obviously a great one too, but im wondering about something. If i compare the Weimar in your video, so the stats, with the Mainz, it seems to be, that there is nearly no difference. They are practically identical, the Mainz has just a bit more hit points, like 5k and makes slightly more dmg, but its not actually that much. So i cant see the tier difference. Mainz is 8, Weimar 7, but they are so close, too close for my opinion and you play tier 9 as mainz and tier 6 as Weimar. Sounds like the Weimar is the much better placed ship. am i right?

Mainz has a rapid reload, better AA, more armour (she's actually a Hipper hull, where Weimar is a CL), and more torpedoes. The armour allows for aggressive play you couldn't quite do in the Weimar at that tier. Weimar is technically the logical progression of the Nürnberg at T6 (with an additional turret), whereas Mainz, while being a light cruiser, is much closer to a Hipper.

Ah yes, the Smolensk. I'm almost tempted to say "yes, unless I'm around in my Hindenburg". These things are very dangerous, due to their range and the sheer amount of fires they can set. In capable hands, and if your team chooses to ignore them, because ships in smokescreens don't exist, there is some truth to that. If you see one, call priority target and focus fire. They're squishy, and only dangerous if left alive for the whole battle.
