Some people claim Smolensk is only good for mass firestarting, but I think it is universally strong as long as there is no return fire. Positioning is key, and in a good division, Smolensk will shine. I have played over 700 games (aimed for 10k but I'm afraid I will never get there) and it really teaches you to play well. Bad players will be punished for their mistakes, while good players will be rewarded. As for BB mains crying about Smolensk: it takes 2 minutes to burn down a BB, while a Vermont or Republique can kill it within a fraction of that time. Many Smolensk players are not that good, so every time you see one, shoot it, even when he is not targeting you. Simple as that.

I honestly don’t find dealing with Smolensk to hard in my bbs as well, unless I’m being focused by many many ships

i have not encountered smolensk alot because i rarely play at T10 but every time i do, its pain i have managed to two-shot a smolensk once while playing iowa but every other time i had to fight one of these things, i was pretty much just screaming in agony as they HE me to death a belfast is alot less frustrating to go against because they atleast dont have insane firesrarting and damage output
